The Quay Bar and Brasserie is the perfect environment in which to sit back, admire the sweeping views of Lough Corrib, sip on a drink or enjoy a delicious meal. The intimate and informal setting is the perfect place in which to enjoy some hearty Irish cooking prepared with the finest local produce, swap stories of the day’s adventures and refresh yourselves with a couple of our most popular cocktails. In the winter, it’s ideal for sinking into the deep leather sofa in front of the welcoming open fire.

The bar was particularly cold. People were sitting with the coats on. The fire was poor and the radiators were off which was a pity because it is lovely. I was so uncomfortable we had to go back to our room to enjoy the wine.

we had very high expectations but were very disappointed. The service was the worst I have ever experienced, often ignored by staff. We waited 90 minutes before our drinks even arrived, we only got them as we had to ask. We waited even longer for our starters, two bowls of SOUP....which should not take that long. We weren’t given any bread either despite them saying they would bring them straight down. The soup was extremely tasteless and bland, very disappointing for the length of time we had to wait for it. Our mains weren’t much better, the chicken was over cooked and burnt in parts and we had to ask for our sides. We weren’t even asked if we wanted anything else such as desert/tea or coffee. Several people had similar issues and complaints as we ate. The whole experience was uncomfortable and we would have walked out before the starters even arrived had we not been staying the night. The excuses used were put down to a wedding taking place but with a venue of this calibre they should be used to looking after a small amount of people in a dining room. We then had to walk out and ask for the bill and nobody asked if everything was ok. We felt no point in complaining as several others had and nothing was done for them. The actual rooms and greeting we received when checking in were excellent and all of the staff were very friendly outside of the dining. Our only reason for staying the night at the lodge was to see what it would be like as a possible wedding venue. The dining experience alone has made up our mind for us and we would not return.

I gladly give the Quay Bar and restaurant the highest recommendation. It is a beautiful location for an enjoyable evening. The food was divine, portion sizes were perfect and the speed at which the food was served was timed well. The staff were very professional, yet friendly. I'm very much looking forward to a return visit

Hotel was CLOSED when we arrived. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE. YOUR SO CALLED SERVICE IS A DISGRACE. I WAS EMBARRASSED AND ANNOYED IN FRONT OF MY GUESTS. Will be making sure nobody I know EVER uses Opentable.

Took 3 friends from overseas to dinner. Loved the ambience and the views. Staff were attentive and friendly and made us all very welcome. Unfortunately one of our meals (the beef burger) was very poor, the meat tough. I should have complained but were unwilling to spoil the mood. In spite of this I will return.

We really enjoyed our opportunity to escape from modernity and the pace/ noise of a busy commercial environment to relax over the perfect light evening meal in those gorgeous traditional settings which we would highly recommend to all our friends and associates!

Stunning location with very friendly professional staff - just a pity about the food. If you are going to charge €18 for a sandwich it needs to be a good one. What we got was very mediocre. We ordered 2 club sandwiches which came out as plain white sliced pan toasted with some dry bacon and chicken - the menu said a choice of chips or salad but we were not given an option. Disappointing but the location made up for it
