   We are frequenter visitors to Red Horse and generally have a pleasant experience. This past Tuesday “burger nite” was a bust — our waitress doubled as the bartender, no one bussed several dirty tables around us, service was slow and haphazard. Live music was quite good, however, and our waitress was pleasant - just overworked and overwhelmed. It will be a while before we stop at Red Horse again. JP - local.

   One of our favorite places but for the second visit in a row getting a cocktail before dinner was delayed because the bar was too busy. Then, to top it off, our steak was served without any temperature…The Red Horse is one of our favorite restaurants at the shore but is starting to lose its focus on service!

   We spent the whole meal cold from the extremely old windows in the main dining room. The waiter did try to raise the temp, but the draft was awful. I wore my jacket the whole time. We have been coming to this restaurant since before it became Red Horse. I do not believe the structure (windows) have been upgraded since. Just looking at them and you can tell. We will be back once it gets warmer.

   2/3 meals were excellent. steak dinner served cold was very disappointing. manager immediately removed the dinner from the bill and was very gracious. Too many tables, too many people for the price tag. Lacked the ambience of fine dining - better suited for mid-market pricing. Better value, ambience and experience at Orchard or Nicholas's Barrel & Roost.

   I will never return to this restaurant , I ordered a cocktail and was given a mocked up drink it definitely was not Grande Mariner they pawned off Cointreau instead . My girlfriend ordered the sea food bisque it came with one little shrimp cut up into three small pieces , then I ordered desert It was supposed to be donut bread pudding it was hard as a rock not very appetizing . The only good thing was the Turkey they gave you plenty it was hot but the stuffing was wrapped in filo dough which made very hard , I understand it was a price fixed menu for three course meal but $95 dollars for one person wasn't worth the money. The server Matthew was terrific. SO I will never go to any of David Burkes restaurants.

   The apps and mains were amazing. We paid the extra $22 on top of the price fixe for the cake pop tree. There was no cake in them. Tasted like pure sugar. It was absolutely inedible. Should have sent it back! Our server was terrible. Nice and friendly, but impossible to get her attention when we needed something, and our cornbread basket wasn’t brought over until we were done with our mains. A total disaster.

    Jane P of Rumson had a great experience recently … 2 couples enjoyed drinks & dinner @ a high top in the bar area. Pleasant and prompt service, delicious entrees, and overall nice atmosphere. Will be back soon !
