Brought family to Roka Akor in Oakbrook for the first time on a Friday night. First off be advised it’s one of the places where there’s no valet parking so that was incredibly inconvenient. One of the things that’s great about Oakbrook mall restaurant dining is the valet service. The place is noisy. So loud that 4 of us strained to hear each other. Food - we’ve had much better sushi at other places. I enjoyed the steak but my family did not. It’s very pricey so we won’t be back.

Very loud. If you want to eat with house music blaring that makes everyone shout across tables, then this is for you. Rotating colored lights make you feel like you are in a dance club. Everything is a la carte so it’s plates of meat with different sauces for choices of entrees. Sides were not appealing. We ordered the cod and it was not fresh and we had a very bad lingering fishy taste after eating it. Most of all- while the waitress was trying to be helpful we were waiting for our food a long time. About 30 minutes to get our appetizers and 45 minutes between apps and entrees. Kitchen is highly disorganized. Never got to dessert because we had movie tix. Do not recommend I’m sorry to say.

Sushi and black cod were spot on. Our waiter Matt was exceptional. Only. Draw back was place was full and noise level was high.

I was very disappointed with our evening at Roka. The food was OK. The blue fin tuna sashimi was absolutely terrible. The server never checked on us while we were dining, nor did he come over to refill our sake. We ordered a bottle. Or water glasses were never refilled without being requested. to top it off there was no toilet paper in the women’s restroom. Very disappointed in the experience. We paid so much money for such a disappointing evening.
