Absolutely not worth it or worth a drive from east bay. Given ample chocies for quality indian food in the Bay Area, this place doesn’t deserve our money or time. Folks in Palo Alto should just travel a little to Fremont and Sunnyvale for good indian food. poor quality pricey food presented in a fancy way with poor rushed service.

Nice ambience. We sat outside and they had a nice heater for a cold night. The food and drinks came out quickly and were delicious.

This reservation was made for an anniversary, yet when we arrived we were told no table was available. Shortly after they directed us to a lone 2 seat setup by the sidewalk even away from the outside dining they had. Mind you we saw perfectly open 2 seat tables inside. Prior to heading out I requested to use the restroom where as I headed back out all of a sudden they said we can sit at one of those already open tables inside. Unfortunately this left a sour taste in our mouth for the duration of the evening.

Overall good experience, but frankly knowing Michelin star my expectations were higher, e.g., there was no one to offer coat check service, no asking if any food allergy - some things I’d expect in Michelins, it was more apparent as I had just dined in two NYC Michelins. Food had was but service needs to be better to uphold Michelin star status.

Wonderfully inventive food - not your traditional Indian restaurant. The the papadam were especially impressive. Slightly haphazard service - made worse by the incredibly high noise level - everybody was shouting to be able to hear one another, which just made it worse. We chose to eat a mix of starter plates, which gave us a rich variety of tastes. But they all arrived at about the same time, so there wasn't space on the table for them., and the experience felt very rushed. Even though we hadn't ordered any mains ("big plates"), the items we ordered that would normally accompany them (naan, raita) were treated as the second course - we had to ask for them to be brought with the rest of the food. We visited in mid November. It was really cold, even though we were sitting indoors - and many fellow diners also kept their coats on, so it wasn't just us..

The meats, even the ones in sauces, were dry. As the food came very quickly, I'm guessing that the food had been pre-made and then sat under a heating element. The naan was also dry and tasteless -- I've gotten better from the frozen food section at an Indian grocery. Much below expectation. But service was attentive, ambiance nice.
