   I love this restaurant. The first time was awesome and could not wait to come back. Had the occasion last night and it was as good as the first time. Went the bar first, which has just simply awesome bartenders who clearly know their craft. We tried a good portion of the dishes on the menu and each one was fantastic in its own right. The food is so good and paired with awesome service. Highly recommend this restaurant. Great wine list too of bottles you don't typically see and reasonably priced.

   Let me start off with saying that food is food and I will eat whatever satisfies my hunger. However, as an American Balkan who’s had plenty of Baka’s homemade food as well as the numerous Serbian/croatian restaurants we have around Chicago, I was extremely disappointed with how the cevapi and Burek tasted. The amount of butter added to the Burek was WAY too much and made it seem more of a soggy casserole rather than the flaky and crispy Burek I’m used to. I understand it’s a “fusion” restaurant, but the Croatian items just felt gentrified and the Casio e Pepe was also pretty lackluster. Our toffee dessert was also incredibly dry without the ice cream (which was a very tiny scoop). Now, I still want to applaud the incredible service we were given as well as the excellence in vibes. The open concept of the kitchen felt like you were apart of “The Bear”. The manager also came to ask us how our meal was—which yes, it was definitely still notable food (I was just underwhelmed based off how amazing the prior reviews were).

   The food and service were good, but we had a reservation and still waited an hour for our table. The hostesses were very kind and it was absolutely not their fault, they gave us a glass of wine and kept us frequently updated. Once we sat down we got an appetizer on the house and the rest of our food and service was great! Truthfully for an hour wait we expected some, if not all, of our meal to be on the house. We will still be back just a bit disappointing!
