   Scratch Gourmet Kitchen continues to impress! From the incredible Valentine’s Day menu to the outstanding service, every detail was top-notch. The food was perfectly executed, with a fantastic selection that made it impossible to choose just one favorite—so I tried everything, and it did not disappoint. Tyler and his team create an atmosphere that feels both elevated and welcoming, making every visit a great experience. Highly recommend for a date night or any occasion where you want truly exceptional food and service!

   $120 a piece for valentines prefix. $240 total. Tiny lobster that was cold with no drawn butter. Completely hard potatoes. A salad with goat cheese and vinegrrtte. Very much not worth the price unfortunately. Also we ordered sparkling water. It was completely flat. I kindly let the server know and she said “well the bartender says we have one bottle and that there’s no way it’s flat so…” haha.

   Dinner and service were equally fantastic. We dined on Valentines which offered a set 4 course menu. Drinks were spot on. This is an intimate space and it strikes the right balance with high quality food and attention to detail service without being stuffy or overly formal. The staff including owner, Tyler are highly personable and attentive. We can’t wait to go back for dinner and plan to enjoy the large patio area when it warms up.

   The most memorable food experience. Each course was better than the next. Thank you Chef Taylor! And Meg for the best crafted espresso martini! ( toasted marshmallows- come on) We also loved the cozy and modern elegance of your new remodel. Can’t wait to come back.

   The new renovation caused a terrible noise level. The food was wonderful, but not sure I’ll go back. It use to have a better ambiance & a normal noise level. None of us could hear each other speak.

   Scratch KC is situated in a charming area of Prairie Village and features a limited seasonal menu. The restaurant has a cozy setup with six or seven tables and a small bar, creating an intimate atmosphere. I had a dinner reservation for two at 5:15 PM and was seated early, which initially seemed promising. However, the service quickly became a disappointment. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty—with fewer than ten patrons—it took 10 minutes to receive a cocktail and a mocktail. The delays continued, with a 20-minute wait for an appetizer, despite the lack of crowd. While the food was enjoyable, the overall experience fell short due to the slow and inattentive service. Given the premium pricing and the abundance of other dining options in the area, I would not return.
