Set in a gorgeous Grade II-listed Georgian villa, the decor is bright and modern but respects the building’s elegance and heritage.

The food, too, respects classical tradition, but is a contemporary take on British cuisine - combining influences from around the world in dishes based on fabulous impeccably sourced seasonal ingredients.

Enjoy an aperitif in one of the elegant lounges in the older part of the building before moving on to the sleek restaurant with its blonde wood beams, exposed stone walls and bi-fold doors opening onto the garden.

The knowledge and experience of Head Chef Luke Tipping shows through in the assured, confident nature of the cooking – and he has the skill to know when to hold back. Dishes are balanced and pure, with subtle modern touches and a pleasing clarity of flavour; be sure to try the signature tapenade bread rolls and delicious soufflés.

Service is enthusiastic and brims with personality.

    Eureka, our superbly equipped cookery school and development kitchen, is about discovery. Discovering the skills and techniques used by Simpsons chefs to create delicious dishes. And discovering and unleashing your own culinary talents. Our cookery classes are a hands-on experience, with chefs helping you create fabulous contemporary dishes. The Eureka Kitchen is priced at £195 per person, to include lunch. If you have a voucher, please give our office a call to book a place!     Me and my husband often do tasting menus and have been to a few Michelin star restaurants and I have to say this is probably the best one we've ever been to. The food was amazing, varied and of course full of flavour (we had the plant based menu which we often find has more effort into the flavourings). We had wine pairing which I'm often unsure of, as I feel rushed. This experience was not like that, the wine amount is just right, sommelier lovely and knowledgeable and it pairs perfectly. What I also have to say is, although it's Michelin star, it doesn't have the pretentiousness that often comes with it. The service was brilliant, friendly and the dishes come out on respectable plates which is all about the food and not the plate if that's makes sense! I never submit reviews but I really had to say this is a must go if you're into Michelin tasting menus and are vegan!

    We come here once or twice a year and it never fails to impress. The quality of the food, the service, attention to detail and staff, always make it a memorable experience. Parking is a problem as the carpark is very small and roadside parking is only 2h so you have to park in the Physician car park or highfields.

    I visited Simpsons with my family to celebrate a special birthday, and we opted for the taster menu. Every dish exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly, the food was outstanding, and the flavors in each course were beautifully balanced. My favorite was the final dish: the Tiramisu soufflé—it was absolutely unforgettable.

    Heritage Beetroot was a great surprise, but the scallop with black pudding and nasturtium oil was also splendid. There was no weak course and all the courses and wines were helpfully explained with humour and warmth. Another lovely evening.
