Small Barn is an exciting part of the Temecula restaurant landscape offering a casual but elevated dining experience in the form of a modern bistro. The menu is inspired by classic preparations found on bistro menus around the globe while showcasing the bounty of ingredients produced in the region. The restaurant atmosphere is crafted to be a welcoming gathering place that is beautifully designed and relaxed, but with a vibrant energy that encourages socializing and discovery.

On the site of the historic Knott Family Homestead, Small Barn has brought new life to a landmark building from the early 1900s. Great care has gone into preserving the structure and with it the legacy of a prominent Temecula family that was among the area’s first settlers. Small Barn has maintained the original residential scale and offers extensive outdoor seating including the large wrap-around porch, covered patio and fireside lounge seating.

We came to Small Barm during our mini moon stay on wine country. We had never been to Old Town before and I happen to stumble upon Small Barn. What a delight! The ambience is beautiful with lovely indoor and outdoor seating. The bar inside was incredible. This small place definitely made an impression on us. We are still talking about the curry soup! Yum. We split the tomahawk steak and mushrooms. The steak was perfectly cooked and d paired nicely with their cab.

Small Barn made my 35th birthday so incredibly memorable!! If you’re looking for a spot that nails both vibe and cuisine, this restaurant absolutely delivers. From the moment we stepped inside, the ambiance was a dream. Imagine string lights casting a warm glow, beautiful decor, and a posh yet cozy atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. We kicked off with starters that blew us away. Each bite of the grilled artichokes paired with a rich garlic herb sauce and shaved goat pecorino was heaven. The ahi tuna in an agave soy marinade was vibrant and fresh, and the king oyster mushrooms in a creamy manchego sauce were next-level delicious. The curry carrot and apple soup brought it all together—smooth, savory, and subtly sweet. Our main courses continued to impress. We shared the seared scallops, which were perfectly cooked with that delicate, translucent center and accompanied by a roasted corn chorizo succotash in a garlic beurre monté—flavorful and unforgettable. The steak frites was cooked to a flawless medium-rare, with a grilled onion vinaigrette that added just the right touch. Every dish looked like it belonged on Chef Gordon Ramsay’s table, artfully plated and full of color. From start to finish, the experience was truly exceptional. Highly recommend this place if you’re after a memorable dining experience with dishes that will have you planning your next visit before you even leave!

I don't think I would come back here for a meal. The pricing was too much for what you get. I was not expecting a bigger plate by any means, but $60 for Steak Frites that looked pretty darn basic. The vegetable on the plate, meh. Just very underwhelming for the price. I say this because I recently had the same plate at a "bar" not too far from there for $40 and it was amazing. I tried to keep that energy going with this place, but nah. We also enjoyed a burger that was not something I can even remember the taste of. I think that's the whole point of eating out, having an experience you can remember that leaves a great taste in your mouth. Sadly, this wasn't it. Aside from the ambiance, I would say just appetizers are worth the squeeze here.

Such a wonderful place. Staff is always very informative and accommodating. Food is beyond excellent. We eat here a few times a month. The noise levels used to be high but last night it was perfect. I hope it stays that way.

Great food and ambiance !! Outdoor patio is perfect for people watching . The whole sea bass served Asian style is awesome, the cashew sauce is so flavorful ! Serves at least 3 people. Charcuterie board is also a wonderful appetizer, serves 3-4. The Salmon entrée, Feta cheese and mushroom appetizers are also super flavorful. Highly recommend eating here
