   I was largely unimpressed with Somerville. I had 8:15pm reservations, had to wait at the bar until 8:35pm and it was 8:42pm before our server arrived. He was very pleasant but by the time we saw him, I was already over the experience. The drinks were fine. Not amazing. Fine. The food was cold (truffle fries) or lukewarm (Brussels sprouts and fried chicken/caviar sliders). If you’re going to make people wait 20 minutes for a table WITH reservations, the service and food has to be incredible. I was anxious to leave and won’t be back. We were also sat directly next to the live band and could barely hear each other. Sitting in the bar area made us feel we were on display as the musicians had everyone’s attention. (As they should). Overall, this restaurant had great potential and fell short on every level except the talent of the band. The hosts run around looking confused and stressed. The manager was not welcoming at the host stand and the beautiful atmosphere does not translate to a beautiful experience at the table. I’m really sad the great menu is not being honored in the kitchen and that I can’t recommend Somerville.

   Great food and fantastic service. The music is extremely loud so it’s challenging to talk in your group.

   Restaurant is very nice. Kinda speakeasy vibe with great cocktails. Food is okay but the atmosphere is unmatched with black excellence.

   The ambiance was stunning. Rustic and chic like a sexy jazz bar or cigar lounge. Perfect for a date night, girls night or fellas night. The staff is beyond amazing. I was early for my reservation and the host directed me to the bar to wait. I was taken care of by Oscar, who is passionate about what he does and it shows with the attentiveness, thoroughness and care he gave me. I appreciated that so much. He told me about all the fun cocktails. I appreciated the SirDavis old fashioned and tried the Uncle Nearest too. I love that they have black owned products stocked! Akil was my server and I loved his personality. I dined alone but the staff’s hospitality made me feel right at home. Akil suggested the collard green lasagna…which I know, I know, BUT TRY IT. It was amazing! I also tried the Mac & cheese and Brussels and they did not disappoint. Sonya cleared my plates and boxed and bagged my food for me, which was so nice. The espresso martini was top notch as well, Oscar informed me the espresso is the same from Hilltop. The live music was such a lovely touch. I enjoyed myself from start to finish. This was the perfect dinner experience. Thank you! I will be back and bring friends!

   A gorgeous speakeasy, vibe with amazing wait staff and hosts who make you feel welcome before you walk in the door. Loved everything about this exciting new dinner club. The menu is rich and delicious. Only teeny suggestion is to rethink the tables. Our table for four was a one sided V shaped bank head, which was awkward and uncomfortable to talk to anyone but the person next to you.
