Meet Sorella, a spirited new Italian restaurant from the team behind Acquerello. Grounded in tradition but contemporary in style, Sorella is a convivial restaurant and bar from a group of deeply passionate hospitality professionals that value warmth and gracious hospitality.

With a dynamic kitchen led by Seth Turiansky, overseen by our esteemed Executive Chef Suzette Gresham and an innovative cocktail program highlighting many of the unique spirits of Italy, Sorella is an exciting addition to the Bay Area culinary scene. Located at the crest of Polk, Sorella incorporates the history and legacy of Italy into a vibrant, modern-day bar and restaurant.

The food was excellent. It was loud. It took a bit of time to get our order in. They were hopping. I will be going back. I woke up this morning yearning for more stuffed squid and chicory salad.

Sorella was the perfect spot for our girls’ night out! The food was amazing, the drinks were on point, and the vibe was just right. Giancarlo stopped by to chat with us, adding a personal touch that made the night even more special. We laughed, we sipped, we indulged—what more could you want? We’ll definitely be back!

Four of us had a delightful dinner experience last TH eve. The appetizers were both delicious. The halibut sahsimi (crudet?) with infused olive oil and soft avacado was out of this universe!. We split three pasta dishes (family style) which was plenty and those were also delicious, creative, and served at the proper temperatures (TADA) and even the sour dough bread and olive oil (where do you get that) was delicious. Presentations were magnificent (once again) as Sorella does as well as any upscale restaurant in The City! The tiramisu was split four ways and was excellent. The staff team was friendly, courteous, and knowledgable! All four of us were raving about the meal the next morning!

Our server, Rochelle was excellent. The menu is interesting and a bit exotic and I we asked for several explanations. Rochelle was spot on with her descriptions of the items: Parmesan Bundino (highly recommend this dish as well as the Chestnut & Pumpkin Tortelli. The balsamic sage butter sauce was delicious.

Creative Italian pastas. The duck bolognese sauced gnocchi was a 5 quack delight. Waitstaff very professional and attentive without hovering. Interesting cocktail menu. A little noisy for a four party conversation but manageable for two.

Classy! The name means sister in Italian. It is in fact Aquarello’s, the 2 Star San Francisco Northern Italian restaurant’s, more casual sister. The mostly amaro based cocktails are well balanced and the food is well crafted. The service is professional and friendly. This is a regular stop for us.
