Amazing food, great service and really good atmosphere. Second time I've been here, I chose a different dish and it was just as great as the last time. Really impressed with this restaurant, will definitely be back the next time I'm in Oxford

Had a wonderful meal at Spiced Roots! The food was incredibly tasty and the portions were generous. They cater well for gluten free which was great as my husband is coeliac. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The rum punch was one of the nicest drinks I’ve ever had! Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Tasty food, though overshadowed by a very average dinning experience. Issues in short… 1. the rum bar wasn’t staffed, so all the drinks were pre-mixed and they only had 3 on offer. They weren’t good, and are expensive. Beer was fine. 2. Music was way too loud and very ‘angry rap based’. Only 3 tables full, and couldn’t hear my date talking less than 1 meter away. 3. Lights were way too bright, so pace had absolutely zero ambiance. 4. Waiter interrupted us about every 5 minutes to ask if he could take an empty plate or empty bottle, or piece of cutlery. Would not recommend….

We had the most amazing meal,the staff were so helpful and attentive. Great atmosphere with such. Chilled vibe.We were a group of 6 and we all had a fabulous time and look forward to going back!

I'm british west indian based in London, Impressed with the eclectic (from different islands) menu - I brought my team & manager here based on those great reviews on Trip Advisor. They weren't lieing - I absolutely loved my meal (Prawn and chick pea curry with roti), my peers and managers loved all of theirs too and finished every bite despite the really healthy portions. There wasnt enough wine (but most people dont order wine in a west indian restaurant) - but my group made up of different cultures were all impressed and loved the food. The service was a little slow - we waited a while for starters (had to order them twice) and about an hour for our food from ordering, but I think there was only 1 waiter. We had, the Jerk Chicken, Oxtail, Curry Goat and the Curried Prawns /Chick Peas - all was delicious, flavourful and moreish!

Great food and cocktails, ambiance, fair price. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow despite the few tables to be serviced (1h+ from arrival to starters being served), and they even took 15 minutes to provide us with the menu after the arrival. Despite that, it was a great night with amazing food.
