We had a great night!!! The location provides great views of the harbour, however many other places have great views too. Why did we have a great night? The staff were great, and we really enjoyed the food! We had a late sitting - last before kitchen closed, and we were 5-10 minutes late. Group of 5, with diverse food requirements, and the last sitting just before kitchen closed. We had a big order including everything vegetarian on offer. We were encouraged to get our order in to the kitchen smartly, which is fair enough. Why were the staff great? Once the order was in, there was absolutely no pressure on us ( not there was a lot of pressure to get the order in, just a tiny bit of encouragement). Once the order was in, they encouraged us to enjoy the food and location. No pressure. Then there’s attention to detail… One of our party dropped a pice of cutlery, and within seconds a staff member appeared with a tray of cutlery to select the dropped piece… Why were the kitchen staff great? Despite being last order in and a complicated one at that, the food was on point and not rushed - and way better than I expected. I was worried given the pub vibes downstairs. I shouldn’t have been. We shared everything across the party. The vegetarian options completely satisfied our vegetarian, despite the rest of us trying to get in on the show. They were well thought out, and we found them delicious- I would be happy and satisfied just ordering the vegetarian options! The entree eggplant was great, with crunchy crumb, nice soft interior and a touch of heat in the sauce. We didn’t order steak - we don’t eat a lot of red meat. We only ordered prawns and chicken. The prawns were cooked and presented well, and got demolished - enough said! The highlight of the night was the chicken. Just try it!

I am writing to provide feedback on my recent visit to Squires Landing. While our experience started off well, with delicious starters that we thoroughly enjoyed, the rest of the meal unfortunately fell short of expectations due to service issues and disappointing mains. We were particularly disappointed with the wait for our drinks orders. It took an unreasonably long time for them to arrive, and there was little communication from the staff about the delay. This detracted from the overall dining experience and left us feeling frustrated. As for the main course, the sides were either cold or undercooked, which was very disappointing. Additionally, my partner was not asked how he would like his steak cooked, leading to a dish that did not meet his preferences. While we appreciate the atmosphere and the potential of your restaurant, these issues left us feeling let down. I hope you will take this feedback seriously to improve service and food quality for future patrons.

Menu makes little sense - we were told things were all sharing. ‘Bar snacks’ larger portions than ‘starters’. Dishes clearly for 2 people minimum in the same section as regular sized dishes - the lamb shoulder was 1kg(!) but no advice on this. Consequently we ordered far too much food with lots of waste. We are clearly tourists so some explanation on menu items wouldn’t have gone a miss. Poor service. Our mains arrived before starters had been cleared, then during our mains we were asked to choose our dessert as the kitchen was closing(?). Our table was 8pm but there were tables available to book up to 10pm. Our mains plates were on our table for 20+ mins after we’d finished eating so we got up to pay. Expensive for what it was also. We dined at a fancy steak place across the way on Xmas Eve and this cost us less! Don’t waste your time, go to 6Head instead.

The service could be more attentive by informing the customer about closing time at least 30mins earlier and they able to gauge the time to finish their time in the restaurant.

The terrible experience ruined my Christmas Eve. Here are the three main reasons why I do not recommend this restaurant: 1. Poor food quality: The seafood, such as prawns, was not fresh and fell far below the standard of similar restaurants. If you're looking to enjoy seafood, I recommend choosing another place. Other dishes, like the steak and fries, were merely average. However, since this restaurant is known for its view, we didn’t have particularly high expectations for the food to begin with. 2. Reservation issues: On November 8th, I reserved a window table and paid $25 per person for it—nearly two months in advance—demonstrating how much I valued this dining experience. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, a waitress led us to a table with an obstructed view, making it difficult to fully enjoy the scenery. I noticed several empty window tables on the other side with a much better and unobstructed view, so I asked if we could sit there. The waitress informed me that those tables were already reserved. I don’t understand this—after all, I also paid to reserve a window table at the same price, so why wasn’t I allowed to sit there? If all the other window tables were occupied, I would have gladly accepted being seated at this spot. But those tables were empty, and considering I had paid for the same type of reservation, why couldn’t I suggest sitting there? Were those tables specifically reserved for certain people? What made the situation even more perplexing was that during the meal, we noticed that the tables with the better view were predominantly occupied by white customers, while Asian customers were seated on our side. I don’t believe this was a coincidence. 3. Unprofessional service: It was extremely difficult to get the attention of the waitstaff when we needed service. Even when making eye contact or waving, they would completely ignore us. When they passed by, and I said “hi” or “excuse me,” they acted as though they didn’t hear anything.

Food and the view are perfect. But we wait for the staff come to take order so long until I have to walk to tell him I’m ready to order. But still perfect.

This was our wedding anniversary. Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was amazing. A bit of noise from the bar downstairs but not intrusive. Cruise ship was delayed and ended up parked outside our window. We were grateful that the restaurant refunded our booking fee. All in all a great night, very happy.
