Part wine bar, part restaurant, a city centre venue with a city centre buzz. St. Vincent is an after-work drinks spot, supper-with-friends place and general 'snack-with-a-glass-or-two' hang out with a big-hearted 'everybody welcome' attitude.

Inspired by the neighbourhood bars we've found on our travels through France and Italy, we offer interesting wines, charcuterie and crowd pleasing plates full of punchy flavours. We're a place where an hour spins into several without anyone noticing.

Open evenings Tuesday to Friday, all day Saturday and close late.

Enough said. Come and find out.

  • Denni di Rosa x St. Vincent

Click on Denni's instagram profile - seriously, do it, you won't be disappointed. His bio says ‘Brand Ambassador and Wine Enthusiast,’ and while that’s technically true (he’s the UK Brand Ambassador for Zonin 1821), it barely scratches the surface. Denni doesn’t just love wine, he lives and breathes it. We’re pretty sure if you cut him open, he’d bleed grape juice. His passion for great wine is infectious. We could go on all day about what it’s like to be in his company, listening to him wax lyrical about wine. We could use every superlative we know, but none would do him justice. The only way to get it is to experience it. So we suggest you do just that. Denni is joining us on Thursday 27th March for an evening of great wines and even better company. He’s bringing some of his favourite pours and we'll be pairing them with a five-course menu. This one’s going to sell out fast, so don’t hang about. Had the most delicious 3 course meal at St Vincent’s. Ambiance/atmosphere perfect. A restaurant that’s buzzing from the moment you walk in. Attentive, knowledgeable, friendly staff. This was for a special occasion. Had 1 small plate and 1 larger plate each followed by dessert. The food is just so exquisite- super tasty, well cooked, well seasoned. Extensive wine menu, broken down into easy to decipher sections so it was easy to choose. We also had a Sicilian sangria which was just devine. If you’re looking for a special restaurant that’s buzzing will deliver the best food ever, then it’s got to be this one. It is expensive but you get what you pay for and you will not leave disappointed. This is our 2nd time here and for me, it’s the best restaurant that I’ve been to in Newcastle. Well done to all the staff involved.

Our second visit to St Vincent and it didn’t disappoint. Food was delicious, especially the lamb chops and tuna salad. Great atmosphere and friendly service. The restaurant was busy but we weren’t rushed and stayed to have another glass of red wine! Definitely recommend and will be back

We have been planning to visit for sometime and were excited and very much looking forward to the experience. Our hopes were exceeded by awesome food, excellent wines and great ambience. This is now in our list of favourite restaurants. Quality overall was top class. Only one item to mention on the negative side is the size of the round tables for 2 persons that felt a little cramped. We are very much looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

Food was outstanding but certainly priced to reflect that. The service was average and very slow both our table and the one beside us had to look for waiting staff to have our orders taken and request more drinks and then to request the bill. It took over 2.5 hrs to get our three courses on what appeared to be a quiet Tuesday night. I would return for the food but expected more!

Excellent meal - really interesting and delicious menu choices, as ever. Chicken was very well presented and the garlic and rosemary roast potatoes were a very good choice of side. Staff were very good - altogether a lovely experience

We dined on a busy Saturday, early evening. Our reservation was for 5.45pm. Our server was excellent. Just the right amount of product knowledge, friendliness and courtesy. The dishes we chose, several from the specials board were, without exception, excellent. The BBQ turbot spine was outstanding. Service had been a little haphazard, a significant wait for cocktails at the start for example, but nothing worthy of complaint. I was however, disappointed when the hostess came over at about 7.15pm to tell us extremely brusquely that the next guests were waiting for our table when our coffees had only just arrived. When I checked the reservation details I could not see that we had been allocated 90 minutes and if the reservation was time limited it was the service that had slowed things down, over which we had no control. To make matters worse we then could not attract anyone’s attention to bring the bill. Sadly the end of the meal became rushed and awkward. Overall it was a lovely evening, food was an absolute highlight but the attitude of the hostess really needs addressing.

Had a fabulous pre-Theatre supper (St Vincent is adjacent to Live Theatre). Great choice of small plates and snacks with plenty to satisfy our appetites - crab dish was excellent. Also impressive drinks and wine selection to choose from. Service was great and whilst the restaurant was buzzing with atmosphere on a Saturday early evening this didn't affect ability to easily converse over supper. Recommend.

st Vincent is our favourite restaurant in Newcastle so we come here regularly. Great food on Saturday night as always. We had to wait quite a while to get our main courses as it was really busy on Sat night with large group bookings but it didn’t matter too much to us as food was really lovely and hot when it arrived. Great atmosphere and the waitress was really nice as always. Prices for starters are a bit lower on the high side with some costing £20/21 which I think is excessive. Other than that we continue to highly recommend st Vincent
