Loved our dining experience at State. Smoked carrot tartare was wonderful and so unique. At our table we had pork, steak and stroganoff. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Grabbing cocktails at the distillery will be on the agenda at our next visit. Thanks Tu and Matt!

I had the pleasure of being town when the space had a special, delicious menu via co-owner Tu Le. Tu, Willis and the staff were amazing. The food was delicious. Book without hesitation. Willis surprised me with a slice of their decadent flourless chocolate cake with a lit candle and he humorously got a few tables to join in in singing me happy birthday. It was tongue & check, but warmed my soul. I can’t wait to come back.

A little Brooklyn vibe in the Berkshires. The aesthetic is industrial/warmth with gorgeous flowers. Candles & art all around. The food is top notch & beautifully presented. The servers are attentive without hovering. I can’t wait to go back!

It's difficult to rate a new establishment such as this—and only after attending one of their special menu events....but here goes. The meal was Vietnamese. We have spent a fair amount of time in Viet Nam and have gone to many Vietnamese restaurants in several countries including France, Malaysia, Canada, and the USA, so we have some familiarity with the range of food. This short menu was built around Pho with beef. The soup base for Pho should be rich and deep in flavor. This was not. Instead, it was thin and somewhat tasteless. The meat, while generously portioned, was bland and uninteresting. The noodles were perfectly cooked—and it came with a good serving of sprouts and Thai basil...points for that. Hoisin in a classic squeeze bottle would have been a useful addition: Anyone who has frequented Pho restaurants knows how much of that the Vietnamese pour on. Two appetizers (tiny spring rolls and amuse bouche size 'rice cakes') were a fun start. Service by the co-owner was attentive. The waitress had an approach more like a bartender than a table server, e.g. taking away used dishes, etc., was clearly something she seemed to think not her job. They also need liquor license which, we were told, is not likely until after the first of the year.

If you're looking for a truly memorable dining experience that is unlike so many of the other offerings in the area, State Food & Drink is a gem that delivers. State Food & Drink has done an incredible job transforming a space that always felt a bit cold and too industrial into a warm, inviting, and cool space to be. Despite the open layout and high ceilings, there's an undeniable warmth that makes you feel right at home. It's a beautiful example of how ambiance and clever decor can turn a large, cold space into a cozy dining haven. The menu is a fantastic mix of classic favorites with a twist and innovative new dishes. Every plate I've tried so far has been beautifully presented and packed with flavor, showcasing the high-quality ingredients and creativity of the kitchen team. The attention to detail is apparent in every bite! A special shout-out to the staff and owners– attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable without being intrusive. They make excellent recommendations, ensuring my meals were perfectly suited to my taste and mood at the moment. The team at State Food & Drink radiates positivity and enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere that feels genuinely friendly. It’s clear that the staff enjoy being there, and that energy is contagious. From the friendly greetings at the door to the attentive service throughout the meal, you can sense their pride in the restaurant and their commitment to making each guest’s experience exceptional. It's rare to see a team so happy and cohesive, and it adds an extra layer of warmth to the entire dining experience. Whether you're there for brunch, lunch or dinner (I totally love the Sunday Supper Events!) State Food & Drink is consistently top-notch. This place has quickly become a favorite. Highly recommended!

Sunday night family style dinner was wonderful and surprising. Definitely a unique experience in sitting at long tables and being served family style. It's probably not the best for total introverts, but we had a blast. From the open snack table for the first hour to the delicious main course of locally sourced, expertly prepared food, it was all excellent. Next time, we will bring our own bottle of wine (which they allow) as they do not serve alcohol. That said, the building has an independent distillery which sold wonderful cocktails for those wanting an adult beverage. We met several friendly people from both near and far, so found the whole evening to be delightful!
