Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Steakhouse89 offers a charming dining ambiance with attentive service. The ribeye steak earns praise as "nicely done to order" and the Caesar salad is "excellent." While the menu could expand and prices are considered high, the calm atmosphere and private dining options make it a "recommended" spot for group gatherings.

Thanksgiving was a disappointment as it was obvious everything was already set on the counter ready to go before anybody walked in and there was really no options on the menu so it should have been a easy service but the food look like it was actually sitting on the counter for hours.

Food was fair. Steak cooked slightly under, but acceptable. It was very underseasoned. The meal was extremely overpriced for what we got. Mediocre dinner for two, a bottle of OK wine and one cocktail was more than $300. My biggest complaint was my date ordered a Stock and Barrel cocktail. The menu said it was made with Woodford Reserve. We watched the bartender pour Bullit Rye. When she delivered it to the table, my date asked what bourbon it was made with. She said Woodford Reserve, which was a blatant lie. We will never go back and a emphatically discourage anyone else from wasting their money.

We had four for dinner. Appetizer, calamari, one ribeye, two tenderloins and a pork Osso Buco. All food was fantastic. Steaks done exactly to order. great scalloped potatoes. Atmosphere was calm and quite enough to have good dinner conversation without issue. Definetely recommended,

We had very high hopes for this Saturday dinner; maybe we shouldn't have. While we waited to be greeted for our reservation (probably too long), we noticed that it was very quiet for Saturday night, which got us thinking 'Uh oh". As we walked through the bar, we noticed it was practically empty, which prompted a reaction of "That's interesting." The waiter was very enthusiastic but probably shouldn't have been finishing up a phone call while we were ordering drinks, and didn't let us finish about what we wanted before saying " I got you". While waiting for our drinks, we noticed the decor was outdated and in the old American West. Not that this was wrong but they are promoting as if it is an upscale steakhouse. It isnt. The drinks came, and they were good, beer was cold, and the server actually got the drink order correct. We asked for a few minutes to look at the menu. The menu was very limited, and everything was ala carte, which was eyebrow-raising and made it more expensive. The server returned, and we ordered. 2 salads, a ribeye, and the Oso Buco. The food was fine, salads were fresh, the mains were nicely portioned but lacked seasoning, and the amount of Paprika in the sauce of the Oso Buco made the dish look like it was covered in a red BBQ sauce, which was not appealing. We passed on dessert. The place isn't bad; I guess it's a "C." With so many other restaurant options in Sedona, better vibes, better food, and better value, this is not a place I would recommend as a "you have to go here if you are in Sedona" place.

The food was OK. The steaks were cooked to specifications, but there definitely was no wow factor. It was a basic steakhouse, but with only 3 cuts of steak, I wouldn't call it a "Steak House."" We started with salt and pepper calamari, which was pretty good. My husband and i both ordered the surf and turf, which was a better value than a filet only. It came with a filet and a handful of garlic shrimp, cheesey scalloped potatoes, and asparagus. For dessert was tiramasu, which was OK. The food was good enough. However, what bothered me is probably insignificant to some. We are in the middle of a place with killer views, but there was not one window to see the outside. The only window had shutters so dark. For a place that charges upscale pricing, they had paper napkins like an outback, not an upscale steakhouse. The drinks were so so. The best part of the whole meal was the water boy. Our water glasses never went empty. He was stellar. There are better places to eat in Sedona, i will skip this place next time.

Extremely disappointing dining experience. We were simultaneously ignored by our server and rushed. The food was nothing special by any means. And there was a large group of real housewives wannabes using the restaurant as their personal karaoke bar (with the acoustic guitar player as accompaniment). Wish we had gone to Golden Goose instead. This was after we stood at the hostess stand for quite sometime before we were seated for our reservation which was for an outdoors seat but we were seated in the bar area. Do not waste your time.
