Welcome to the Steam Plant Restaurant and Brew Pub! This historical building actually functioned as a steam plant between 1916 and 1986, when the last boiler was shut down in December of that year.

Then years later, the old plant was transformed from a dirty, drab industrial behemoth into a cathedral-bright architectural showcase becoming a functional commercial space while maintaining as much history and equipment as possible within the rigid guidelines of historic renovation. Fortunately, the iconic twin stacks continue to lend a uniqueness to the Spokane skyline.

Since reopening in November 2021, the Steam Plant has partnered with Grain Shed Brewing whose beers are made with regionally sourced ingredients. The bar and dinner menus have been updated to showcase local favorites. Prices range from $11 - 16 for shareable appetizers, soups & salads, handhelds, and pizza; entries range from $18 - 38; and desserts range from $9 - 19 for the Steam Plant Shareable that feeds 4-6 people.

                  Went for my daughter’s birthday. Food was awesome. Ordered a New York steak and was brought a ribeye. They took care of it immediately and brought me a New York with all the sides at no charge for 2nd meal. It is very family friendly, my 3 year old grandson loved the mac&cheese. Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning!!

                  Everything we love about the steam plant was there. Wonderful server, nice ambience medium noise level all good. Unfortunately I wish I could say the same about the food-not bad, just very so so. We were disappointed in the menu choices, it felt like price cutting options in a more upscale restaurant. All of us said the same thing, the food was OK but nothing special. If we’re going to pay the price for an upgraded restaurant & downtown parking costs, we would appreciate a better menu. Sadly we won’t be back in the near future, hopefully they will upgrade some of their food choices.

                  We had an excellent time for my wife’s birthday! The food was top notch, the service was great, and the birthday desert- cake and ice cream - was enough for all of us to share! We will definitely come again!

                  We got very sick after eating here. I’m sure they are not always in this situation. I believe it was the spinach salad. Service was excellent

                  Great experience. The food and service were outstanding. Be sure to allow time to explore the whole historical site. It is a must for those who love the old turn of the century (1900) machines and robust technology.
