We went for lunch on a Friday to do dim sum. It's a limited menu at lunch and we were initially disappointed because not all the items on the already limited menu were available. But even with 5 of us, there was enough variety, so that when we supplemented with one item off the regular menu, we had a fantastic lunch with a lot of variety. We have 7 different dim sum items, and 6 of the 7 were some of the best we have tasted anywhere. Service was tremendous.

I recently spent 4 days in Singapore and ate mostly at 1 star Michelin restaurants (as I often do elsewhere). The Summer Pavilion was touted on Trip Advisor as #2. I had the "Tasting Menu". I found it to be the worst of the places I ate at, most of the others really first rate. The cooking at Summer Pavilion was uninspired, and in some cases, such as the chicken soup, totally pedestrian. Not only did the soup remind me of bad hotel buffets, but the coconut "shell" it was served in had such a narrow opening that it was very difficult to eat. The other dishes were nicely presented, but not memorable. The wine pairing was not very good, the pours were stingy, and the course overpriced (the latter, as one might expect at a top hotel). There was an unruly table of drunks doing gambei shots. The overall ambience was sterile and the service proficient. I would definitely not go back and would advise others not to do the same, unless you're staying there and pressed for time. However, there are other venues at the Ritz-Carlton that may be much better choices.

This is a wonderful space with attentive service. The food is expertly prepared. The dim sum was available by the piece but a bit underwhelming. We had two dishes as well and they were delicious
