Taiki offers an exceptional sushi experience that transports you to Tokyo right from Brooklyn. Guests praise the "excellent sushi," "great service," and "authentic, yet creative menu." While the omakase is "out of this world," some note occasional service hiccups. Overall, a standout spot with a charming ambiance and delightful flavors.

Myself and 2 friends had a reservation on a Friday at 8:15pm. We were the only table in the restaurant so there wasn't much of a vibe. Our server was friendly and gave good recommendations, but spent a lot of time chatting loudly with the chef at the counter. The food took awhile to come out considering we were the only customers. After our food was delivered, our server left the restaurant. Another server stepped in briefly but then went to the back of the kitchen to eat dinner and the chef followed so we were the only people in the front of house while we finished eating. The food tasted good and seemed good quality, but the sushi was falling apart. We were still hungry and would have ordered more but with no vibes, minimal attention from staff, and poor presentation, we decided to leave and go eat 2nd dinner across the street. Maybe it was just an off night, but this was my only experience and I don't plan on returning.

Great, small restaurant that’s chef owned. Authentic, yet creative menu. Nice atmosphere. Definitely sit at the sushi bar and watch the magic happen.

While I’m all for supporting small business the owner here needs to get it together. He was clearly training all the staff during the night. This made the service supper slow and it was uncomfortable seeing him yelling at the staff and explaining things. Also the sushi was mid at best. The price was a bit blown out coming out to be 200 for 2. Also they where offering 20% discount and we forgot to mention it. When we asked for the bill to be done again they laughed in our face. Their staff and kitchen is clearly not ready for customer service and be open yet.

Delicious, the best sushi I’ve ever had anywhere. Off the beaten path but worth seeking.

The omakase is out of this world. Great service, too! Truly a top quality restaurant.

Best evening at Taiki. Everything was perfect. Fish was so good, especially the Japanese sweet fish and the golden eye snapper. We don’t live in Brooklyn but when we visit, we will definitely return.

Great quality, a little on the pricey side, but for Omakase it was a decent value.

Excellent sushi that would stand on its own merits in Tokyo, let alone Brooklyn. A gem.
