Takam’s philosophy is about #filipinofoodforward which showcases to their culture, nostalgia and passion for the traditional flavours and techniques of Filipino cuisine, but delivers in a elavated, harmonious and personalized manner.     We had a very nice birthday dinner. Food and service was absolutely amazing! King prawn palabok and beef brisket were seriously outstanding! We’ll be back soon.

    Amazing new modern take on Filipino food. All the flavours are there but not your traditional plated Filo food. A blend of ingredients incorporating Australian native foods. Wait staff were outstanding, explaining everything on the menu and so, so friendly. Great cocktails with uniquely different ingredients. TAKAM is a great find in Darlinghurst. This place is exceptional. Very popular, a full house on a Wednesday night. Suggest you book a table or you may miss out.

    The food was delicious! Reminiscent of all of my favourite Filipino flavours and dishes made into a modern concept. The service was lovely and they were overall trying to improve the sound experience by turning down the speaker above our table. Downfalls were the ambience and acoustics of the upstairs space. It was loud and uncomfortable as we had to yell at each other to hear each other. There was another group sitting on the same floor and although they weren’t “loud” it was uncomfortable and chose to leave before dessert. Recommend asking for a downstairs table if booking a group. Recommendations: Put up some artwork with some sound absorbent materials like wood for example. Any form of sound absorption would improve that upstairs space. Salamat po!

    Food was exceptional incorporating fillapino flavours as well as Australian natives, intimate dining as well as staff that tended to your every need. Cocktails and wines paired beautifully with the food.

    Takam really knows how to meld together traditional Filipino dishes, then balance out the richness to make it more refined. Murray salt flakes here. Sesame leaf wrap there. My grown up palate appreciated the work of these master cooks, while my childhood memories came flooding back!

    Do yourself a favour and go! It’s a neighbourhood gem and the food is super unique and tasty. A few tiny hiccups but generally speaking a really excellent experience will definitely recommend and return
