The service is always amazing - and I always look forward to going here. And I love that they frequently change chefs and menus. I have been many time and the food is creative and different and flavorful. This was the first time I was not in love with the food. It was good but not to my liking. I understand that the chef was only using products from when the Mayflower arrived here - but I found the food to be bland and nothing special. I can't wait to return to the restaurant - but not until the next chef is there.

Been here several times before going to the Ahmanson or Mark Taper and have always had a good experience but I think this last time was the best. I called ahead to let them know I was running a few minutes late and they said no problem but couldn’t guarantee I would make the theatre on time. I appreciated the heads up but knew we would be fine. We were seated right away and even though it was outside in the tented area, it was very comfortable temp wise. The server, Junny was friendly and very helpful when it came to ordering. We got the tuna salad and tomatillo salad, recommended by Junny, and salmon entree. When another person brought the salads, she raved about getting the two together. It was not too filling and a lovely mix of textures and flavors. And the salmon was good too. Also the chocolate mezcal cake, another recommendation, was a winner. Not to sweet or rich but another interesting mix of textures and flavors. All this and made curtain at Ahmanson with time to spare. I’m hoping to get back here for one more dinner or maybe brunch before the next chef comes in.

Love the Native American influence on the menu! Everything we tried (salmon, tuna, roasted vegetables) was fresh, creative and delicious! And it’s really fun to be on the Music Center Plaza !

They’ve changed the format to rotating chefs. Our chef was Native American and Mexican. The food had a lot of Native American flavors (I’m told), and I didn’t love it. It was fine, but I don’t need more of it. Service was excellent and prices were pretty reasonable.

Interesting food but the portions were small and the expresso was awful!

A great option for before the theatre. The concept of changing the chef and menu through out the year works very well. Service was excellent.

Although our server, Kirk, was very nice and helpful, service was fairly slow, especially given that we were having a pre-theatre dinner. Starters and entrees were good but not great. The choices are definitely limited, so it’s good that a new chef comes in every few months to completely change things up. The desserts were terrible. There were only three fairly strange choices, and none of them tasted very good, and all were very dry to the point of being almost inedible. The starters and entrees and Kirk’s friendly attitude definitely save this restaurant, along with the can’t be beat convenience of the location. We’ll definitely be back, but we’re hoping they will have moved on to a new chef and different menu by then.

Food was fair, drowned in sauce and salt. Extremely poor service.

The food was much better than the ambience or service. We enjoyed all of the dishes we tried from chef Pyet Despain. Our server often left us confused, waiting too long, and then rushed us out when we were trying to pay the bill. The server was memorably bad and it really took away from the experience of the night.
