temper Covent Garden is always a good time. It’s got the largest terrace in the group and serves rare breed English steaks, which have been aged and butchered in-house, tacos and its famous bottomless brunch every Saturday. The restaurant is split over two levels, with an open kitchen on the ground floor where our chefs cook tacos, smoked meat parathas and deep-dish cookies over a fire pit and in a giant wood oven, plus a bar mixing Margaritas and pouring out shots of mezcal.

Downstairs you’ll find The Den, a semi-private sanctuary with leather booths, perfect for large groups.

Please note we currently do not accept Open Table dining cheques.

temper Covent Garden is a fantastic venue right in the middle of Covent Garden, a short walk from Covent Garden, Tottenham Court Road & Holborn Underground Station. Fire, steaks and gin take the lead on the menu and open plan kitchen and dining room with fire pit provides a unique backdrop for any occasion. Our private room, the Den, offers privacy as well still feeling apart of all the action of the restaurant. With a separate bar, it's a great space for up to 55 guests seated or standing. Or hire the entire restaurant for exclusive hire up to 100 guests. Our Group Feast Menus have been designed for larger groups, served family style to the tables for sharing, the temper way. Our Events Manager will work with you to create a bespoke event to your preferences, but with a twist!

The Burnt end tacos are a must have, and so was the cookie dessert. The other tacos were amazing as well. The servers were attentive and friendly. However the cornbread this time was a little dry and wasn't warm.

Really disappointed with this restaurant! We booked our table three weeks before and on arrival at 7pm were told they didn’t have our reservation. Only by showing the email confirmation they accommodated us. It got worse… We went to order and out of the four steaks on the bone & four steaks off the bone that were listed on the menu only one of the off the bone steaks were left to order, with a minimum of 400g and only the ribeye steaks starting at 500g. We were left to choose a cut of meat we didn’t want and grams we would not eat. We were not advised of this when we were seated. Any restaurant would usually mention this. We decided to up and leave. This was meant to be a premium steak house… how can it be when they have no steak! Was a real disappointment as there were other steakhouses we could have booked prior to our visit. Would not recommend and will not return.

Delicious food! We went for the 45pp mixed grill (minimum 2 people) and it was awesome! SO much food we had to take some home! Would definitely go again!

Yummy food, beautiful space and good drinks. We loved everything we tried. Only negatives are it is quite pricey for a big group and the shared tables are quite noisy.

Food never disappoints at temper but this occasion I had the most tender steak I’ve ever had it was stunning, tacos and tostadas were also delicious.

Temper has returned to its essence: steaks and tacos to the fore. The exquisite, hedonistic abundance of truly delicious tacos are irresistible. The classics are there, and some mighty big hitters from the past make a reappearance. The steaks follow with that perfect sear, thoughtful resting and their unctuous perfections. Lois cooked our 1kg porterhouse...I torn a strip apart with the lightness of touch of my fingertips... rendering the steak knife unnecessary. Stunning. My guests described the meal as the greatest of their life, I agreed. Phenomenal stuff indeed. Thank you Team Temper.

The area was beautifully cooked! The staff are really attentive. Overall everything was great! The tequila lychee without the Tabasco margarita was perfect
