The Aperture, the first full-scale restaurant project from Chef Jordan Anthony-Brown. The menu reflects the concept of Mediterranean mezze style dining, consisting of many small plates, rustic in nature and reflective of seasonality and creates a natural progression and flow for the dining experience. The Aperture’s menu reflects three fundamental tenets: intention, balance, and focus. The menu - and its individual dishes - are approached with the objective of putting critical thought into every component, eliminating the extraneous, and ensuring a natural flow across the menu. The culinary program is heavily influenced by the cuisine of the broader Mediterranean region and the simple, seasonal cooking of Southern France, Italy, Greece, and the Levant.

Our menu changes often and with the seasons. You can always find our current menu on our website www.theaperturecinci.com.

We really wanted to like this restaurant. We had heard great things, and were excited to go for our 35th anniversary. Unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver on the hype or the amount of money we dropped there. The atmosphere was nice but loud. The cocktails and sampling of dips to start were great. Then came the raviolo with a duck egg. We were psyched for it, but the pasta was thick and chewy, the egg was overdone, and the entire dish was under seasoned. We actually left part of it on the plate. Entrees didn’t redeem the dinner. I had striped bass on mussel chowder which was pretty good but didn’t blow me away. My husband had the lamb shank on rice. The rice was bland and dry, and the lamb was under seasoned and uninspired. The service was friendly; the hostess greeted us with a “happy anniversary!” but the pacing was way off. From the beginning, we felt rushed at the table. our waiter served our bottle of wine immediately after our cocktails, rather than waiting for us to finish. Then he took 20 minutes and 3 “oops I forgot” visits to bring a bucket of ice for our bottle, which got nice and warm while we drank our cocktails. This seems very picky, but when you drop over $300 on dinner, we expect much more from the experience. We won’t be going back.

First time here. Lovely cocktail, old fashioned, the black bean garlic hummus was wonderful. Would just eat the pita bread! Totally delicious! Also loved the carrots and sweet potato dish. We tried 2 desserts, the cornbread and the one listed below it. Forget the name. Did not like either. Too much going on and did not like the spice taste or the texture of the bread. Will be back but eat dessert elsewhere.

The food was amazing. This chef knows what he is doing. I’d recommend the garlic and eggplant hummus - best I’ve ever had by far. The place was fairly noisy and chairs weren’t particularly comfortable, but it’s worth it if you like food.

First time visiting. Date night reservation. We were seated promptly, offered a cocktail. Loved the dew drop gin cocktail. Service was excellent. Server was attentive and offered good suggestions. Interesting menu. We tried the humus sampler with the wood fired pita, so yummy! We shared 3 other small plates which was the perfect amount of food. The sweet potato had a great smooth and crunchy texture. The Mafaldine pasta with braised duck and truffle cream sauce was divine. The Pork belly savory, loved the fried Brussels sprouts. Fri desert we tried the sticks pudding with ginger ice cream and a melted caramel pour over…oooh do good and definitely sticky! Would highly recommend this restaurant for a fun date night. Happy staff, great food and drinks.

Very loud. Few small plate, salad options. Delicious entrees but pretty pricey

We ordered 3 small plates and one pasta and it was enough for two of us. The only real stand-out dish was the eggplant hummus -the pita bread was great. Would not recommend the hamachi collar - it was not fresh. My husband and I were both cold - wore our coats and it was 78 degrees that day, so the A/C must have been on. We probably won't venture back. Service was great.
