Service was poor, but could have had to do with the kitchen. Our appetizer was terrible - cooked warm tomatoes on a crostini - no herbs, spices - just warm tomatoes. Appetizer was served 30 minutes after we ordered. We then waited about 45-60 minutes for our entrees to be served. They were served barley warm which was really disappointing. We are fine to pay the high prices for their food, but not for what was served to us. My advice, think twice about going.

Disappointing Experience at Charleston – Not Worth the Price This was our second time dining at Charleston, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. While our first visit was fine—though pricey—this time, the experience was frustrating and underwhelming from start to finish. First, let’s start with the positives: the ambiance remains a strong point. The restaurant has a refined and elegant atmosphere, making it a great place for a special occasion. Unfortunately, that’s where the highlights ended. Despite ordering a four-course meal, we found ourselves sitting for an exhausting two and a half hours—far too long for a dinner of this size. Our waiter disappeared for long stretches, leaving us wondering when (or if) our next course would arrive. Then came the food, which was a mixed bag, mostly underwhelming. The focaccia, priced at $14, was stale and dry—not a great start. Both the soup and salad were poorly seasoned, lacking depth and flavor. We were immediately pushed toward bottled water, with a large wine bucket and two bottles placed on our already cramped table—a clear upsell tactic. My wife’s lobster mac and cheese was less than the advertised six ounces, making the portion feel meager for the price. My vongole dish was supposed to feature clams but came with half mussels instead, which felt misleading. By the time dessert arrived, our expectations were already low, but even those fell short. The portions were tiny, yet expensive. My crème brûlée had clearly been torched ahead of time and refrigerated, ruining the signature crisp texture. The burnt sugar was like rock candy, hard and unpleasant to eat. After all that, the final bill came to $238 before tip, a price that might have been acceptable had the meal and service been worth it. Unfortunately, this was a meal worth forgetting. Charleston may have a great ambiance, but for the price, the slow service, lackluster food, and overpriced portions make it a poor value. We won’t be returning.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at The Charleston Draper and it was everything we hoped for and more! Our server, Paul, was knowledgeable and attentive while giving us space to enjoy our evening as it unfolded. The ambiance was cozy and romantic. The food was impeccable! Every dish was thoughtfully plated and well presented. In addition to the food we also tried their cocktails and wine. One of the best wine selections we have seen in Utah so far! We can't wait to come back!
