   Very lively with locals in the bar, which was nice. Food was very good overall. Wine reasonably priced. Lighting could’ve been a bit subtler. Service was on point and staff were all very friendly.

   First visit but will definitely be back and will recommend to others- warmand cherrful reveption followed by wonderful choice of menu, Food that tasted brilliantly And service, which was there every step of the way. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable experience and in a lovely setting

   Table for two pre booked in the bar/lounge. Wasn’t expecting table service as not in the restaurant, so this was a lovely surprise and the person serving was extremely helpful/friendly/polite. Food was excellent; beautiful presentation & delicious. I chose venison pie served with savoy cabbage, roasted carrot, mashed potato & gravy. The pie was packed with venison & the vegetables perfect. My friend had curry again beautiful presentation & delicious. Decided to indulge in a sweet; both chose lemon posset with blackberries & shortbread biscuit (a full sized one). Again, delicious. Overall, excellent lunch with my Bessie Mate & a place definitely worth visiting again.

    We have an absolutely fantastic experience at The Checkers. My wife, 4 year old daughter and I. Booked to go on a Sunday evening. The atmosphere is great. A feeling of being very person and upmarket but still very much relaxed. We all shared a starter and then had a mixture of roast dinners and a pizza. The chicken buffalo chicken wings are the best wings I’ve ever eaten. The staff were incredible helpful and so welcoming. The manager especially who took time to talk to us and our daughter and even bring my daughter more medium rare beef because she loved it so much. All in all 10/10. Will definitely be going back.
