   We had the most delicious meal. Our Waiter was brilliant & very knowledgeable! I would definitely recommend this fantastic pub

   I found cold roast parsnips in my starter a bit odd- knew it was a salad but expected warm parsnips My sole was swimming in a buttery sauce that was a bit much- quite sickly. The bar staff young lady who showed us to our table was patently unhappy in her job & couldn’t muster a smile

   A top quality pub/restaurant in the heart of beautiful Chilterns countryside. The Chequers will appeal to those willing to pay a little more for excellent food, attentive service and great ambience.

   I would have given 5 stars, but unfortunately we were pushed into a small table in a dark dusty corner, which spoiled the entire experience and birthday celebration. It felt like I was eating in a cupboard. What a shame.

   Lovely traditional pub offering a warm welcome and good service. Menu is straightforward, but food was nicely presented, generous portions and very tasty. We had the chicken curry and fish and chips. Prices were a bit more expensive than a quality town pub, but not unreasonable given it's country location. Booking is probably wise as there are not loads of tables. Great outside area and garden for the summer. There are some great circular country walks to do from this pub. Will definitely be back.

   A lovely old pub with the warmest welcome and a log fire. Great choice of food, served with thought and care, good wines and beers and a large garden. I will definitely be back.

    Nice restaurant but no one else eating which is surprising on a Thursday evening. Service very good and attentive. Perhaps a little too quick with our main courses after our starters. Liver had a skin and some sinew so texture not great but flavour very good. We felt it was expensive. Toilets temporary and outside but could have been cleaner.
