The ambiance is beautiful in winter time. There was Christmas decorations, Christmas tree, fireplaces going, snow in the background. It wasn’t too loud. Our server was very knowledgable and attentive. But, we would not go back. The food is way over priced for what you get. The cheese fondue only comes with pickles and bread, and you have to pay 2x for it as it’s a two person minimum. (Along with anything else you get) The French onion soup was very good, but again not worth the price. The steak was fatty and shaved super thin and tasteless. We had to spit it out. The server was very apologetic and offered if we wanted something else. We tried the sausage, but it was mushy inside and wet and again had to spit it out. After that we asked for the check and skipped the chocolate fondue. Over all, good service, beautiful location, but over priced and meat is very below average.

We loved our dinner at The Chalet. It was so good and really one of the highlights of our time in Whistler. We had the $69 pp special which included salad or soup (both amazing, cheese fondue and chocolate fondue. Both the fondues were devine. We added the vegetable platter which was a very nice complement to the cheese. The service was excellent and ambiance lovely. We hope to go back soon!

We stayed at the Fairmont and expected our meal to be as beautifully prepared and presented as the photos presented from the hotel. Far from it! Fatty steak that we didn’t eat; so fatty we wouldn’t serve it to our dog. Salmon so thinly sliced we couldn’t use the skewers. It was a joke. Let’s not forget the glass of wine for $26.00 that was about 2 ounces. When I requested the standard 3 ounces, our waitress gave my husband and I the dirtiest look. Our two guests didn’t eat their food. They clearly didn’t like their fatty steak. Our bill was $300.00 plus, we left and went to Brickwork’s and had an amazing meal.

We had to remind the staff that we are in the restaurant and we’re waiting for service. Nobody seems to bother to help us. The cheese fondue was very good. Onion soup as well. The meat fondue was below average. Dessert was a chocolate fondue, which was OK. Service was below average. Quite annoying as the restaurant isn’t cheap.

My husband and I had a lovely evening at the Chalet! The fondue was incredible - we did the classic experience and loved it. Having the kind waitress call us a cab at the end of the meal was a nice, hospitable touch.

We arrived for dinner service and were first into the dining room which smelled like wet dog. Bizarre. We got the classic fondue and the beef (fondue cooked in chicken broth) was thin, fatty and tasteless after cooking. Just horrible. The cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue for desssert were nice. DON’T GET THE CHINOISE FONDUE (cooking meat in broth) that’s included in the classic fondue set meal or a la carte. Our daughter had a regular meal from the menu and enjoyed it.

Cheese fondue nice but chinoise broth was overpowering with allspice and nutmeg- not a great (or traditional) combo and massively overpowered the meat. Chocolate fondue very good as was spatzle.
