   The ambience was strange and started with an apology that the food would take longer immediately suggesting something had happened in the kitchen! The food was perfectly fine but in an area of so much choice we will probably not visit again.

   An overall poor experience. Table booked for 7pm. Waited 15 minutes to give our drink then food order. Had to return to reorder as the chicken dish chosen was no longer available. Eventually had our main meals served at 8.30pm. We appreciated that they without us requesting removed the cost of our starters due to the wait. The table next to us order two steaks and had to reorder as they had no steaks left! When we raised that we hadn’t had a good experience the waiter explained they had thought and planned for a quiet evening due to the rugby being on - how ridiculous !!!

   We have frequented the Congresbury Arms for many years but hadnt been for a few months. We had heard about the menu changing and but it seems that instead of changing the menu the owners have simply reduced the number of dishes available. My starter of tempura cauliflower was nice however it was more like fish and chip batter and was out of the freezer, my wifes scallops were also from the freezer. My main of fish and chips was very good however my wifes chicken roulade was raw in the centre. Im at a complete loss as to how a chef can cut a chicken breast in half and not notice that it is uncooked. We shall not be back until the Congresbury Arms changes hands again, which wont be long if the current owners dont do something to drastically improve things.

   Excellent service, sensible sized menu and well prepared food, quantity and presentation was good. Will certainly return.

   We went for Sunday lunch here for the first time. Ambience was lovely, staff were outstanding and the food was very high quality. The only slight gripe I have is that the food was not hot, plates and food were only warm but it was still lovely. Will definitely be back.

   Little slow at welcoming us when we arrived 5 minutes ahead of our 12.30pm booking - thereafter service excellent, pleasant and attentive, noise level became a little loud after 1pm diners arrived but overall ambience very good, food excellent in presentation, taste and size of portions, value excellent.

   Great little place. Friendly staff, very helpful. Nice food and the best zero IPA I have tasted! All good value! The whole place seems very well managed.

    Lovely place to dine. Nicely decorated friendly staff and really great food. We had a pork Sunday roast and a vegetarian nut roast with a side of Colli cheese was absolutely delicious. Will look forward to going again.
