   I’ve been to The Crown many times, but it was a little disappointing on this visit. We waited for at least 10mins at our table and then had to ask for menus. My friend had the fish finger sandwich, she said there was far too much batter so it overpowered the fish and also made it difficult to eat/ hold the sandwich. Also, when will the trend of food on slabs of wood be over, please can we put food on honest plates, please! I had the glazed ham chop, which is what I always have, it’s delicious , but it hadn’t been glazed and I’d asked for the fat around the edge to be well done/crispy, which it hadn’t been. Also, the yolks of the fried eggs were very well done and not even slightly runny. I also had to go up to the bar to pay after waiting for about 10 minutes at our table with the bill. I know it was a busy Friday night, but I would still expect slightly better from The Crown. Hopefully a one off and it won’t stop me going back.

   As always a trip to the crown never disappoints. Food was good, service from team excellent. Only downside is you can't get a glass of Malbec.

   Fabulous menu as always. We had small plates & shared. Service great & 'orange' wine was a nice, different vino! Very refreshing. Lovely lunch.

   Incredible good food (esp. the venice and the apple-rhubarb crumble) and very hospitable staff. Cosy atmosphere with great music selection playing in the background. Can highly recommend.
