The award winning Ebbitt Room restaurant is nestled within the stylish Virginia Hotel on Jackson Street in the heart of Cape May's historic district.     The kitchen closing time was the only piece of info we felt was less than hospitable, as it was explained twice in a way that felt a little rude. The place was packed. It wasn’t as if we were the last table. But all of those feelings left us the moment our first course arrived. Every detail of every dish is near perfect. The drinks. The colors. The flavors. Outstanding.

    Was concerned whether outdoor patio enclosed and heated would be comfortable. It was Terri’s. Excellent service, terrific food and about the best ambience.

    The food was very good, and the holiday decorations were tastefully executed. However, the overall service experience required significant improvement. While our primary server provided satisfactory service, the food runners exhibited a lack of professionalism and displayed a rudimentary manner of handling the plates and basically tossed them on the table. We had to initiate requests for pepper and water, which were delayed in their arrival. Additionally, the valet attendant was simultaneously stationed at the hotel front desk, resulting in a 15-minute wait for our vehicle. Due to these shortcomings, the overall dining experience was unfortunately overrated.

    Christmas afternoon dinner at the Ebbitt Room was thoroughly wonderful! The festive cheery decor was welcoming and warm, as well as the live music and energetic staff. The food is exquisitely prepared and mouthwateringly delicious. I look forward to future special occasion celebrations at the Ebbitt Room in the Virginia Hotel.

    We chose The Ebbitt Room to celebrate Christmas! The restaurant was beautifully decorated, the staff was friendly and the food was excellent. We had the king salmon, the cioppino and the lamb shank. All 3 entrees were very flavorful and nicely plated. For dessert we shared the donuts and cinnamon ice cream. Both were enjoyable. The Ebbitt Room is one of Cape May’s finest restaurants!

    I was celebrating my birthday and it was just perfect. The food, the decorations and the service were amazing. Even though the hostess was very rude and obnoxious, not sure why she is the first person your guests see. The rest of the night was great.

    We had an 8pm reservation and weren’t seated until 8:35pm. Manager didn’t handle the delay n seating well and our server and wait staff wasn’t up to par. Multiple dishes didn’t come out on time and several dishes were wrong. We used to love this restaurant but won’t be back again. There are too many other great restaurants in the town.
