The Famous Curry Bazaar fits seamlessly into Brick Lane and its horde of curry houses. Owned by London brothers, the Ahmeds, it's been serving excellent Indian and Bangladeshi food in a laid-back setting for 20 years. Just remember to keep your eyes peeled while dining — star rugby players, actors and TV personalities have been spotted dining here. Even the likes of Chris Martin Russell Brand has given the restaurant the thumbs up.

The Famous Curry Bazaar menu plays things straight, offering a selection of familiar Indian dishes. There's butter chicken, cooked in fresh cream and almonds, delicately flavoured king prawn passanda, and lamb tikka with a sweet and sour edge.

The food was nice, if a bit generic, but way over-priced.

Good value for money and quality food. Service very friendly and will recommend to friends and family. Chris Martin picture and Russel Brand was a bonus. Overall this place can be one of the best I've had in a long time

So we decided to go for the a la carte menu, we were recommended the lamb shashlik bhuna which was a house favourite, a chicken shatkora and a lamb tikka achari, sag ponir and couple of sides. Food was served to perfection no complaints whatsoever. Service very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended

My main issue with this place was that we sat down, the waiter who served us was completely disinterested and I had to explain the deal we had through open table. We hen asked for two white wines and he brought over Rose. When we said this was wrong he pointed to me and said 'you said rose'. He also forgot my friend's other drink and we had to ask a couple of times. We then did get served by someone else who was MUCH more friendly and a very good waiter to be fair. However, the original waiter was serving the table next to us and kept bumping my friend with his bottom and didn't even turn round or apologise! I guess you have to laugh at that one!

The Famous Curry Bazaar was very similar to other Indian restaurants I have used in the past, good value but not outstanding

Average at best and the curry was the least spicy I have ever had. Like Lancashire hot pot!

Had to run gauntlet to get to the restaurant from the folks on the street pushing their own restaurants. Lots of competition on Brick Lane. However, once we made it The Famous Curry Bazaar, we were greeted with a warm welcome. Very good service and the food was delicious.

My family ate dinner here while we were vacationing in London. The restaurant has rave reviews and they are well deserved. Our food was delicious, and the servers went above and beyond to provide excellent service. They even arranged for us to have transportation back to our hotel, which was across town. Highly recommend, and will go back if we return to London!

We booked the famous curry bazaar in advance to avoid any disappointments. It was fairly busy for the time. We were serves by two smart men who were very good with their English and helped us order the food. We enjoyed our meal and service. Very friendly environment and good value for money. Paid £40 for two including drinks

Went there based upon the reviews. Brick lane curry house, got to be ok... Nope... The food was at best average, the service poor and the bill very expensive. Its all very stuck in the 80's with the menu and the décor. Avoid, I have been to far better around Spitalfields
