   Unfortunately we weren’t wowed by any of the dishes. Our favorite was the burrata dish, but everything else was meh. The focaccia was too dense. The pastas were fine. We had eaten at a nearby more casual pizza spot the night before that was outstanding. Sadly this was a disappointment.

   For the prices you pay and the quality of service, the fat ox is a place i'd never recommend. Had to wait longer than someone should for the main courses to then be given something I didn't order. We had waited so long by then I just wanted to eat something and the dish wasn't good. Took too long to get a drink as well.

   Food was perfect, ambience and dining area was cozy and welcoming. Kevin was the absolute star of the show and I’d come back just to order water and be able to talk to him all night in between refills. Love.

   A total food experience. Service was impeccable and on point. Food quality and quantity were perfect. Flavours were a total experience. Good prices. Restaurant was clean and well maintained, clean and spotless. Definitely would return.

   We had a fantastic dining experience at Fat Ox! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The appetizers were outstanding, especially the elk meatballs! Our entrées were equally impressive, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The ambience was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. I highly recommend Fat Ox to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience!

    We loved it so much we came back the next day!! We were able to be seated in Mathieu’s section again and he was spectacular…again!! Here is a man who truly loves his job and it shows in EVERYTHING he does! From the wine and cocktail recommendations to all of the food on the menu! We wanted to try something different than the night before and we were impressed yet again! We shared the Winter Bruschetta which was so full of flavour! I never would have thought of using butternut squash for this but it was incredible! Even the flavour of the toasted bread was great! We then had the Roasted Chicken Breast and the Beef Short Rib…bravo! So delicious! The way the flavours were combined to create these dishes was fantastic!! Truly, this restaurant is a gem! We are complete foodies and are really picky when we go out and this place just checks off all of the boxes! Next time we are back in Banff we will for sure be back!! Grazie mille❤️
