   A good choice of dishes on the main menu and on the specials board. I had the smoked fish carbonara and my partner had chalk stream trout. Both were delicious! The staff were helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our visit.

   We booked The Fish cottage as a treat for my birthday. The restaurant is a fair way from Whitby so we took a taxi. When we arrived we noticed all of the lights were off and no one in the car park. It appeared to be closed, we rang but no reply. We realised that we weren't eating those that evening and got a taxi back. When we got back to Whitby I emailed, three days later and still no reply or explanation. Overall a really poor experience which cost money on taxis, no response from the restaurant, despite us confirming the reservation day before. It's a real shame as we were all looking forward to a great evening .

    We had a really lovely night for New Years Eve at The Fish Cottage. Service was impeccable with all the staff working so well together to deliver each course efficiently and succinctly and the food was amazing. We loved everything about our evening - thank you to everyone at Fish Cottage for making NYE 2024 so memorable.l
