   This was our first visit to The George (but not to downtown). We wanted to elevate our meal to celebrate our daughter's college Masters graduation. Our group of six did have a reservation in advance. Arrival was smooth, and we were seated promptly. It was a busy Saturday lunch setting. The service start was slightly delayed, but once greeted, we had our attendant's regular attention to ensure we were all set. We enjoyed sharable appetizers. The Brie dish was delicious, with amazing roasted garlic. The Crab Dip was warm and tasty. Calamari is always a challenge, yet the Calamari dish had excellent dipping sauces with some heat. Kudos to the kitchen, as the entrees (Black Bass, Salmon, Catfish sandwich, and one outlier with salad and chicken wings) were primarily empty plates at the conclusion and two take-home boxes. Our group agreed there would be return visits.

   The food is very expensive for what you get. To order a salad you’ll pay $10 which is reasonable. To add a chicken breast, you’ll pay an additional $11. For a piece of chicken. To add a piece of salmon you’ll pay $17. While it’s a nice view, the food is not worth the asking prices. Even the Brie appetizer has hardly any flavor. Great place for a cocktail and a view of the water but that’s about it.

   Service as excellent and the food was superb. The Black Bass was one of the best dishes we have ever had, anywhere.

   Great Food with lovely appearance. Good service. We were asked if we are coming for a special occasion when making the reservation. It was my wife’s birthday and the only thing said to her was Happy Birthday from the hostess. We don’t expect anything for free but if you ask the question it makes for a disappointment when that is all that happens. We would definitely eat here again but probably not for a special occasion.
