   Despite trying for years to enjoy the Grounds Cafe, we have sadly decided never to return. Today’s service was the last straw for us local Sydney foodie family who love to explore and travel the world. We completely understand the the Grounds easily relies on its unique venue and can therefore have poor service without worrying about losing customers, but it’s sad that a local family who has been frequently visiting since its very first opening (before its insta-worthy fame), has to finally make the decision that it’s just never worth it. Despite having a 1pm booking we had to wait in line for an extra 20 mins (with kids) to wait for a table to be ready. We then had to wait another 10-15 before even ordering. We then ate and were still waiting for the ‘specialty’ drinks. When they finally arrived (after our food was over), we were told that there weren’t enough special cups (pretty much the entire reason we were ordering them, for the aesthetic) and one kid had to miss out. Not even two sips in the $14 drinks were gone - filled with ice and froth and barely a mouthful of drink. Our kids were so disappointed. I ordered a second glass of wine and it never came and we had to cancel it when we asked for the bill. Two female toilets in the whole huge vicinity and with five girls in our own family, that was difficult enough, let alone the line to the toilet. The icing in the cake was waiting to buy a toy from the installation and watching the workers chatting together without offering us any service, despite trying to ge your attention. We walked off without purchasing anything. I know nothing will be done about this complaint because the Grounds are so unique and rely on a constant flow of tourists, but it’s such a shame that we have travelled the world and had amazing service, yet our own hometown can’t even come close to providing even basic service like giving us the drinks we ordered. It’s just not worth it anymore, much to our disappointment.

   I've been to the Grounds of alexandria several times and I must say that the experience I had on the 15th of Feb was the worst experience I have had there to date. I had 5 different staff serve me while I was there, and two were polite and lovely. the other 3 barely said a word to us if any, and went from the mild offense of listening to our request for the bill without saying a response (they did still go and get it, but without confirmation, eye contact or aknowledgement) to placing food on the table and rushing away without saying what the dish was or really any aknowlegement that we were there. I appreciate that the valentines day weekend is busy but we felt much less than valued by the staff and frankly if it wasnt for my wife's mild obsession with the strawberry chiffon cake I dont know if we would be going back at all. The dissapointment on the day was exacerbated by the fact that every other time we have been there the staff have been good so the contrast was stark.

   Thouroughly enjoyed our day although we got saturated from the rain but rain in Paris is the best time to visit ✔️💕♥️👏🏻

   The Grounds at Alexandria, first time experience, is like no other cafe I have been to in Sydney. Especially with the Paris decorations and lots and lots of flowers. Women and everyone are loving this! Especially the women! So take the women in your life to The Grounds at Alexandria for a truly unique experience with the Paris decorations and flowers.

   Gluten free bread was as hard as a rock . Could not eat it or cut

    Do not book a table for late lunch. We booked 2 pm. The place was crowded but they had sold out of almost half the menu. We were there for the Claris event and by 2:30pm they had sold out of the Claris cakes. It was just a joke. Understanding it was the weekend and gets busy they should’ve catered appropriately. Staff pleasant but stretched and variable with their level of attention or service as it waa so very busy. Food average.
