   On arrival we were greeted by pleasant young girl who showed us to our table. We then ordered a drink and studied both menus. We started a cheese dish. We then had seabass and a pork dish. At this I must say there was more ample portions. The food was excellent . We did not have dessert but instead had an Irish coffee Our experience was 5 star and would highly recommend the Hillside .

   Delightful, warm atmosphere. Very good staff and excellent food, Will definitely visit again soon.

   We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and chose to dine at The Hillside as we have had many wonderful meals there. We were greeted immediately and asked who the Birthday person was and that they would be given the choice of a free drink or free desert. We chose the bread board for sharing and we thoroughly enjoyed the warm selection of breads and spreads. My husband ordered scampi and skinny fries which he thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the fish with chunky chips and was really disappointed with the fish as it looked and tasted like fish from a freezer pack the coating was soft and not at all crispy, a little stodgy. Fries were dark and over cooked. Unable to finish my meal. I know this is not the usual standard of fare just disappointing.

   The bar was very busy and there were two birthday celebrations going on. But we got a nice table in the restaurant and really enjoyed the food. Because the bar was packed it made for a good atmosphere I enjoyed it.

   We joined Hillside for lunch and to watch rugby, The owner really tried to get the screens and sound for those wanting to watch the six nations, without success, it is a small bar with nooks and difficult to provide coverage all over, Perhaps put screen in restaurant for big matches? Keep bar for quiet pub meals,? I had to ask for toilet roll and soap in the ladies toilets before we ate Otherwise all good!

   Fantastic food and excellent service. Best place to go for a catch up with friends or a celebratory meal. Food is always incredible and service is always fast with lovely people working there. Always a go to choice for going out for a nice meal.

   Great friendly service from the moment we walked in. Was promptly greeted and shown to our table. Was a special birthday meal, so they had a wee card recognition of the fact on the table and birthday man was offered a drink on the house, which was lovely. Great menu choice and took our order in good time. Food arrived piping hot and beautifully presented. Really tasty and would definitely recommend a visit. Nice warm relaxed atmosphere as we sat by the stove. A really enjoyable birthday celebration for my family.
