   Being Sunday the Ivy was very busy . We had a reservation at 6 pm for a party of 8 . It was my son’s 19 birthday. Main course was delayed by about 50 min but once we spoke to the manager, he put things right . We were offered complimentary drinks and the food was delicious . Had a little surprise treat for my son arranged by the restaurant. All in all an amazing culinary experience.

   Been 3 times this time for graduation, was perfect the food was really good esp the fish and chips and scallops. They got us a free dessert for the occasion and service was very attentive, people at the entrance were friendly and welcoming as well! 5*

   Very good service, friendly welcome. Beautiful surroundings, ladies room elegant. My husband had the shepherd's pie, enjoyed it but felt the portion was very small.

   Always love visiting The Ivy. Am asking for the second time for confirmation that the working staff now receive 100% of the service charge ( in line with new laws). It appears to remain very complicated, according to staff, which is not in the spirit of the law. As a result I do not pay the service charge but give the waiter/waitress cash. Please be transparent and explain your present policy.

We operate a Tronc-based system, where any service charge or tips left by guests are pooled together into a collective fund, or “Tronc.” This fund is then distributed among our entire team at the end of each pay period. This approach helps to ensure that all members of our team—whether they are working front-of-house, in the kitchen, or behind the scenes—share equally in the rewards of great service. We believe that this system reflects the collaborative effort that goes into creating the dining experience for each of our guests, and we hope it conveys how much we value our team’s hard work and dedication.

   it was good food and a nice atmosphere. Only criticisms I have are 1. We felt a bit.rushed at the beginning; whereby the sparkling wine came at the same time as the pot of tea. 2. I requested Assam, which was not available, so then I requested Ceylon. I actually received Oolong tea. Otherwise, no problems.

   Great place in central Oxford to eat - we were celebrating some birthdays; food was great, atmosphere was great. Would recommend but suggest you book ahead as it gets pretty busy
