   Afternoon tea was a disappointment. Others at the table who ordered hot food were not overly impressed with their dishes especially cold sweet potatoe fries. Service was hot and miss…. Our waiter decided after an hour we had been sitting and served with drinks to put table cloths down on the three tables….not exactly a 5 star dining experience

   We ordered Sliders that arrived cold & our waiter kindly replaced them - and the new ones were also cold, the buns were part frozen, the burger was cold & the cheese wasn’t melted. One of our guests ordered a chicken burger, which was literally sliced chicken breast in a bun! Very disappointing!

   we had dinner at 7.30 on Saturday - we left at 9.75pm having waited an hour for our starter - which was a long wait but the food was really good. we waited another hour for the main - I had the vegetarian Cauliflower and mash which was reheated , watery and inedible. my husband had striploin and he had ordered it medium rare - it was overcooked and vegetables were re heated. He ordered extra chips - they never came My daughters chicken nuggets were really good we left as it was way past our daughters bedtime and the meal was so bad we were not going to wait another hour for another disappointment it was also my husbands birthday dinner. if there is a wedding in your establishment your other guests should not have to suffer for it. your kitchen is obviously way understaffed and under pressure waitress was brilliant I have to praise Ines she did her best in a bad situation. the manager did come to talk to us as we left when he saw our full plates as we could not eat food. .

   We were told the lamb dish would take 30-35 minutes. Ok, sounds good. An hour later they finally brought the main courses. The restaurant hardly had any patrons at that time.

    The lobby lounge and Reading Room at the InterContinental Hotel left an indelible impression on me. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. We were promptly seated, and refreshing glasses of both bottled still and sparkling water appeared while our main drink orders were taken. Whilst they happened to be out of the drink I selected, the staff’s swift recommendation for an alternative drink option was spot-on, and I was thoroughly pleased with their choice. The synchronised arrival of our food was also thoughtful touch. We didn’t have to wait for plates to arrive 1 after the other, getting the food altogether made the dinning experience great. The ambiance was nothing short of fantastic - a harmonious blend of elegance and comfort. The experience ranks among one of the best I’ve had in a hotel lobby lounge. In summary, the InterContinental Hotel’s Lobby Lounge is a must-visit for anyone staying at this hotel. The restaurant is fantastic but if you’re looking for something a little more relaxed but with the same high quality service, this is a great option. I would certainly recommend this Hotel as a place to stay and dine. Fantastic!!
