   We visited The Meldiz for a Mother's Day meal, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The food was outstanding—fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. The service was also very good, with attentive and friendly staff who contributed to the welcoming, family-run atmosphere. However, the restaurant was quite noisy during our visit, as there was a large table of 24 behind us, with children running around, which did make it a bit difficult to fully relax and enjoy the ambiance. While we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, we did find it on the expensive side at £180 for four people (including a 10% tip). That said, it was a great treat for a special occasion, but not somewhere we could afford to visit too often. Overall, a lovely dining experience with excellent food and service—just be mindful of potential noise levels and the price point.

   Greeted with a smile - always feels Special attending the Meldiz. We shared hot and cold mixed starters and they were delicious. Ingredients are always fresh, we all Commented on how succulent the chicken was with the charcoal smoke adding to the overall flavour. Looking forward to going back soon. Highly recommend

   Our experience in The Meldiz was outstanding from coming through the front door to us leaving. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was exquisite and made to perfection. The portions were plentiful to the point we had to take some home with us. Staff kept checking on us to make sure we were happy and satisfied. Would definitely recommend and we're planning to return.

   Good served quickly and very tasty Was given a birthday pudding with a candle and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday

   Our starter plates were taken away from us before we had finished eating as they wanted to serve our main courses, which was rude and very disappointing. The lamb moussaka was a deconstructed mess and didn't look anything like moussaka. The lamb shish was dry and overcooked and had the texture of fried liver. The flavour tasted more like old mutton than lamb and was very overpowering. When we complained about the meal we were told it was customary to cook the shish kebabs well done?! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will certainly never go back again.

   Absolutely awful! Service was terrible in many ways. Food was not good at all. The meat was over cooked and cold. The flavours were extremely poor.

    Lovely food & good value. Didn't realise the restaurant had been in Basingstoke a good number of years. Definitely recommend
