About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Good for special occasions
  • Good for groups
Open Tuesday to Sunday with food served all day from noon.
We now have 3 Giant heated Tipis, they provide lots of fresh air and a lovely open environment, they are also heated.

Formerly an 18th Century farmhouse boasting exposed beams, oak floors, exposed brickwork and oak tables. This leads to a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere with candle lit tables and real flame stoves.

The cuisine is typically modern European, classically cooked using cornerstones such as stock pots to create their sauces with a brigade that has a passion for what they do.

This is exciting times for the pub which now has a new bar serving real ale straight from the cask. Be sure to check out the website regularly to keep up with the latest events and offers.

Ordered the sea bass was very disappointed in the size in the fish so small and the portion of potatoes there was about 3 small ones cut up on my plate . The whole beans were floppy and inedible all for £21.95 ! Staff were very friendly at the table but the two bar staff (not enough for such a busy Mother’s Day) were rushed off their feet and we waited over 10/15 minutes to pay our bill .Not a good experience this time .

We have been regular customers for a while now, went for Mother’s Day today was lovely sitting outside first in the play area. Then was seated to our table which wasn’t laid up with any cutlery, ordered bread and olives for table no cutlery laid still on table. Waiting 45 minutes for a bottle of water and after asking 3 different waiters for this bottle we received sparkling water not still. So sent that back cause we wanted still water. Food came out and it was cold, so sent back 2 of the dishes because it had pork stuffing on and we are allergic to pork. Still no cutlery on table waited and one girl brought cutlery over in her hand with no napkins. Waited 10 mins for napkins to come out Beef was tough Spoke to manager Then went outside after paying the bill and my youngest fell off their play area and blood was everywhere from his nose, I ran inside to get tissues informed them but not one member of staff came out to record the issue in their accident book or even check on us at all, Went back in for a jug of water still no one came out, Cleaned up my son and we left

Excellent service from the moment we arrived. The staff were amazing and the food was lovely, we had the beef roast and I can honestly say it was one of the best we have ever had what made it even more special was the gravy I have never tasted anything like it it was so nice! We will definitely be returning in the very near future, Thank You

Let me start by saying the teepee dining experience is a very nice touch and the waitresses were polite and helpful .😊. The food…. Well I had such high expectations for the moody mare. However the menu today was for Mother’s Day , so it was different from their website menu. Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy the food so much. The pork scratchings at £2.50 a pot I would guess to be from a packet (not made in the restaurant) and there was very little of them. The chicken liver and whisky parfait was lacking the whisky flavour lol. The burgers were dry and we struggled to find the pulled pork . The chips were soggy and no seasoning. The trio of meats roast dinner that my partner ate had a weird tasting gravy, burnt Yorkshire pudding and the meats were all salty. Upon speaking to the waitress, she relayed information to her manager and in turn we was offered a free dessert. (Just the 1). The desserts ….disappointing again. The treacle tart lacked treacle and was kind of chewy. But the lemon sorbet was extremely nice!! The “pavlova” consisted of what I guess was shop purchased small meringues with frozen mango bits. Definitely not worth £8 per dessert! As I said, I had high expectations for this restaurant and we left disappointed. ☹️ I’m Very sorry for writing this about the moody mare, but I only hope that my personal criticism is taken in a constructive way to better the quality of the food.
