The Mussel & Steak Bar is dedicated to serving high quality, fresh and locally sourced seafood & steaks, with warm service and welcoming surroundings. Our restaurant is located at the bottom of Victoria Street in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, just a few steps from the historic Royal Mile. While enjoying the best mussels, oysters and steaks that Scotland has to offer, you can catch a glimpse of Edinburgh Castle from our window.
Our menu features classic seafood and steak favourites with seasonal Scottish specialties: fresh oysters, kilo pots of steamed mussels, shellfish platters and delicious matured Scotch beef steaks. Sourced from the West to North coast of Scotland you can expect to find seafood specials of lobsters, crabs, langoustines and scallops.

First visit fior us. Unfortunately there was a table of very loud people next to us which made it difficult to hear each other but the food and service was excellent. Loved the complimentary oyster, not tried before! We would go again if we return to Edinburgh in the future.

Sitting near entrance, door continually being opened, would not close properly had to be done by staff when anyone came or went, it was an exceptionally cold day but meant you were not comfortable and could not enjoy your meal as much as you would have liked. Issue MUST be addressed ASAP

Sonntag Abend der 2. Dezember, ich bin in Edinburgh und habe einen Tisch in der Mussel & Steak Bar reserviert. Ich war ein paar Minuten früher da wurde aber trotzdem sehr freundlich empfangen. Die Bedienung war super freundlich und Essen und Getränke flott bestellt. Ich hatte 6 Austern als Vorspeise und das Surf & Turf als Hauptgericht. Das Essen war super lecker. Austern waren der Hammer und Steak und Muscheln genau so lecker. Es ist nicht ganz billig, aber die Qualität war klasse. Mir hat die Atmosphäre im Lokal sehr gut gefallen. Ich komme definitiv wieder. Danke für einen schönen Abend.
