   I booked this restaurant as we were staying the night . The staff member who greeted us gave us outstanding customer service asked the occasion and when stated it was my partner birthday said he would get a free dessert which I thought was a great gesture. The meal was really good however but the owner concentrated on looking after local diners as if the ones paying his bills through hotel stays were not important to him . When he cleared the table he asked if we wanted a dessert and I highlighted the offer of the dessert for the birthday guest. The owner said it is only if you buy one which he then said he was kidding but then left without giving a menu . As my partner is Diabetic he could not have eaten a full dessert without a consequence. So we went for the bill . When the original female staff asked if we wanted the dessert we explained the sequence of events . The staff member said he was kidding . So why did he not return with the menu or take an order. Overall the food is good ,service by the employed staff is outstanding. Just the owner needs to look after all guests not just locals .

   After a successful visit a couple of weeks ago we decided to return. As before, the welcome from the landlord was first-class and the waitress/bar person excellent. Both friendly and efficient. However, on this occasion we were let down by the food. 3 people opted for lasagne which, when it arrived, was little more than layers of pasta with tomato sauce, topped with bechamel; of the beef mince there was little sign. The other person had the chicken burger which he deemed fine. Because of the enthusiasm of the staff we will make a return visit but someone needs to give the chef a talking-to.

   This is a lovely place to eat. The staff are friendly and cheerful and there is a lovely proper pub feel in the bar, whilst in the separate restaurant area, it is quiet. The food is tasty, fresh and well presented, served by people who smile. Definitely recommend.

   Lovely friendly owners. We had the chicken curry and also dessert. Buffet option also looked very good. Lovely ambience and would defo visit again.

   As always, a great meal in a friendly atmosphere. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. A wide variety of drinks and the food is delicious. All in all perfect.

   Very nice place and cosy… 2 people had chicken fajitas which wasn’t great value really as portions very small..roast dinner was ok nothing special… overall just a fair experience probably won’t visit again… staff were friendly and attentive though throughout.

    Fantastic service, staff extremely helpful, Catherine was amazing especially for how busy it was on mother's day , food was great , and can certainly recommend the rioja wine , can't wait to go back
