I visited this establishment for the first time on New Year’s Eve, driving a considerable distance for an early meal. From the moment we arrived, it was utter chaos. The place was packed with an uncomfortable mix of drinkers and diners, and the atmosphere felt completely disorganised.
We started with the pig’s cheek, which arrived cold and was left untouched. For mains, we ordered the calves’ liver and two burgers. The burgers were just OK, but the calves’ liver was awful—cold, pasty, and stringy, with a strange flavour that made it inedible. The beans were al dente, the mash was cold, and the 'jus' was unimpressive. I couldn’t stomach it and left it.
Adding to the frustration, we were asked which accompaniments we wanted with our burgers, yet they didn’t arrive. To make matters worse, the male waiter seemed far more interested in hugging his ‘regulars’ than in attending to us or other diners. When our plates were cleared, a staff member asked how everything was. I didn’t answer, as I couldn’t imagine where to start.
Unfortunately, things only got worse. After returning home, I became very unwell for 72 hours. Even now, I don’t feel completely recovered. Concerned, I tried contacting the restaurant, only to discover there’s no direct phone number—it’s all handled centrally. I emailed the General Manager as instructed, but after four days with no response, I called again. I was told my email hadn’t been received, though it was later confirmed during the call that it had been.
Despite three calls and two emails, I’ve yet to receive an apology or any resolution. The last call handler’s attitude was the final straw—when I explained I hoped to resolve the matter privately before writing a review, she dismissively replied, “Just do that.”
At this point, I’m not sure what’s worse: the food or the staff. Between the poorly prepared meal, the lack of care for customer concerns, and the apathy of the staff, this experience was beyond disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend .
