Literally sat 2 ft from passing cars on a Main Street in St John, there appeared to be only 1 server for all the tables we could see and the lobster was over cooked. The lobster seasoning was excellent and there was a lot for the price.

The food was delicious. We're vegetarians so it was a pleasure to eat tasty food not killled with sauces. The restaurant serves Trinidad Style food. We had the famous Joesphine Greens salad with sliced apples it was very tasty, but the Johnny Cake was the best. It was a sweet cornbread with bean toppled with carrot slices. I highly recommend this entree.

Food authentic Caribbean. Delicious large portions served on unique cutting boards. Wonderful cocktail menu many choices of Caribbean flair to many drinks. Food the best we have had in Cruz Bay However they are understaffed and service quite slow. Average price per dinner $40 ish. A bit loud inside.

We had the the fritters and pork belly appetizers. Both were tasty. The table wobbled every time we tried to cut our food. Staff members were friendly.

This was our 2nd visit to the restaurant. The first time was 1 year ago. We absolutely loved it both times. The food was excellent! The food was delivered very quickly, and it was very hot. Our server was great.

Fabulous carribean and Cuban cusine. Very authentic. It is high-end De' Coal Pot for those who have been visiting St. John for years. We had multiple appetizers, and everyone was special! They even had Callaloo..... a locall island green that is rarely found... it is like a mix of sautéed/creamed spinach! Our service was fine... but all restaurants in St. John struggle with staffing... be patient, and you will be rewarded! We were so impressed, we came back 2 nights in a row!!

19th year on St. John and this was our 1st visit to the old La Tapa. We were extremely impressed! For those who remember, it is a VERY high-end version of De Col Pot. Cuban, carribean, and locals food that is uniquely prepared and presented. They even had callaloo as a side dish - -a local green that is similar to a mix of sautéed/cream spinach but uniquely different and tasty. 4 amazing appetizers and callaloo filled us up. The entrees will be tried when we return. Put this high on your St. John restaurant list!
