   The cozy dining room at the rear of this popular bar is a great place to enjoy a meal. We recently dined on shucked oysters, deviled eggs, oyster sliders, and a smashburger with fries. Everything was excellent.

   The Retriever is the most amazing experience. The food, the drinks, the service, the atmosphere…it’s a tough one to beat. A must do in Chestertown!

   We love The Retriever! It is a cozy spot with excellent food at reasonable prices. Even if the bar in front is packed, the dining area in the rear has a relaxed ambiance. We've enjoyed the oysters, the chili, the burger and the pulled pork sandwich. It's becoming one of our "regular" stops on our monthly visits to Chestertown.

   Excellent as usual. It was a perfect night for the butternut squash soup and a few OP oysters. We even tried the break-even scotch tonight too. 🥃

    The Retriever has a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. The food is excellent. I had shucked oysters (on Special) and a fried chicken sandwich served with fries; my husband had clam chowder and a house burger with fries. The dining room is at the back of the building, set apart from the long bar, which was quite busy on a Thursday evening. There was a "buzz" in the air, but the room was not noisy at all. Highly recommended!
