  • Neighbourhood gem
Welcome to The Rose Inn
The Rose Inn is located in the beautiful rural area of North Warwickshire in the village of Baxterley with stunning views over Leicestershire, Birmingham and on
into the far distance.

The Rose sits opposite the site of the old Baddesley colliery, behind the village green and duck pond with an orchard and large relaxing area overlooking the pond.

Originally believed to be a 'Gentleman's residence', the building dates back to the 18th century and has served as a courthouse, jail, mortuary and for more than a hundred years as a public house.

The beef and turkey Sunday roasts were amazing. The portions were great, the food cooked to perfection and just beautiful.

While the Rose Inn undoubtedly is in a beautiful location, that's really all I would recommend. Service was appallingly slow, there appeared to be 3 bar staff to the 5 customers in for meals, one table outside with 4 lads having a beer who left minutes after I arrived. Took almost 15 minutes to place order, beer arrived, table was so leaning the beer fell off table!! Food (Gammon) was very watery, chips soggy, they weren't able to give me fresh tomatoes as tge tomatoes (on a vine) were already cooked??? Meal was truly awful, horrible aftertaste. Luckily the staff weren't just mostly absent they were useless too and forgot to add 2nd drink to bill, at least I didn't have to pay full price for the swill on offer. Obviously Brake Bros food. Took me over 5 minutes to find someone to pay... I won't be back.. AVOID!!!!!

We unfortunately found the food just way too greasy, the lettuce on the burger went so sloppy due to the grease it ruined the flavours . The onion rings and fish were also just so greasy it was hard to stomach. Overpriced for what we got but service from the young guy was great.

Food was absolutely lovely as always other than the gravy seemed very salty, all our table commented on that It was very busy today so service was slow. I'd recommend more staff maybe in busy sunny Sundays.
