I recently visited The Sundial Restaurant for the second time, hoping for an exceptional experience while celebrating my father’s 60th birthday. Unfortunately, the evening fell far short of expectations for a fine dining establishment. While the views are undeniably beautiful and my father thoroughly enjoyed his tomahawk steak (kudos to the chefs), the overall experience was marred by outdated decor, filthy bathrooms, and unprofessional service. The hostesses were particularly rude, which set a negative tone for the evening. Having dined at upscale restaurants in Atlanta and across the country, I hold fine dining to a high standard, where service plays a critical role. Spending $347 (plus a 20% tip) should come with a level of professionalism and attentiveness that was completely lacking. I strongly recommend management address these issues, as this was an incredibly disappointing experience for such a special occasion. While I hoped to share a memorable evening with my father, I was instead left feeling disrespected and underwhelmed. Fine dining is about more than just the food—it’s the entire experience—and The Sundial needs significant improvement to meet the standard it claims to uphold.

This was the most horrific experience I’ve ever had at a supposed to be fine dining restaurant the food was undercooked and then when we got our entrees they were ice cold the melted butter had gelled up it was so cold so we complained and the manager Candice Kay looked at us like we were crazy and didn’t offer any kinda restitution

We made reservations at the Sun Dial to celebrate my eldest daughter’s birthday and they made our experience so special! The views are incredible of course, the food is phenomenal, and our server, Anna, was so engaging and kind and my girls absolutely loved her so much!

The reception at lobby level was great. The reception at restaurant level was TERRIBLE. The guy that took us to our table had the worst attitude about us wanting to take our stroller to our table because he had to “go get the elevator”. As a long time customer of the Sundial I’m disappointed by this experience and I’m not returning anytime soon. I was not expecting this level of unprofessionalism, specially when I spent $400 on food and drinks between two people. I ordered my Lamb Chops medium and they were well done, but our server quickly corrected the mistake. Other than that, the food was great.

Michael was a phenomenal server. He was knowledgeable, kind, attentive, and funny. We would go back just for his service but the food and drinks were also incredible and service was quick.

The food was mediocre at best not for the price, the service was concerning. I’m from Los Angeles just moved to Georgia so I clearly understand the tip culture and don’t mind it. However, I saw my server twice, once taking my order and the second time collecting payment, no where to be spotted after that. The rest of the time we were serviced by the “bus boy”. The server decided to run after us and hold the elevator to explain if I wanted to ever eat at a high class restaurant again I should tip at least 20% when I actually tipped 15%. The embarrassment and entitlement I felt was indescribable, I did not receive 20% service not the from the server. For the price you pay and the service you receive where you feel obliged to tip horrible service it’s not worth it. The server’s name is James.
