Driving up The Mayflower is stunning and the overall decor is gorgeous. We sat outside on a crisp fall night but assumed when agreeing to do so that heaters would be on. It took another guest requesting the heaters to be turned on and for us to request a table lamp (as no outside lights were on) for the staff to notice and oblige. While the service was a bit slow the server was very friendly. The food quality does not fit the price tag. We ordered the chicken Caesar salad and the chicken was dry and not seasoned well. We also ordered the burger and it was rather small. Not at all worth the value in my opinion.

The staff was outstanding and the inn and grounds are beautiful. The spa was the best I’d ever seen. My $26 cocktail was amazing. Dinner was good, not earth shattering. That’s the only reason for the four stars. It’s definitely luxury pricing. Glad we went.

Excellent service, beautiful setting, food was good, but at that price point food should be great. I’d still go back as there are only so many nice restaurants in the area - and you can get into this one in the summer! The negative reviews are overblown; you’ll enjoy the evening.

Food not great or certainly not for what you would expect from an auberge property. Very mediocre. The bar is charming. Hotel lobby is pretty. Staff is well meaning but extremely green and young. Meal for three one drink no desserts was two hours. Service was absolutely embarrassing.

For a hotel of this caliber and price point we were surprised at the mediocre quality of the food. The mussels were tasteless, the black bass surrounded by mushroom caps was bland and one of the most unappetizing looking dishes I’ve ever seen. ( they were out of the snapper I ordered. ) . I will give good marks for the fries and the sorbet, but it was generally disappointing. The barmen were very attentive and helpful, the bright spot.
