   Having been to the national Concert Hall before I was expecting great things. We arrived an hour and a half before the show and were promptly seated. One member of our party is vegan and we rang ahead to ensure there would be an option available which we were told there would be. Lo and behold when it comes time to ordering our waitress said that the vegan option was very popular tonight and unfortunately she could provide a soup and salad instead. We told her that we rang ahead and were ensured of a vegan main being available, we even told her the name of the person we were speaking to. She rushed off to the kitchen and came back 10 minutes later saying chef said he would try his best. She didn’t even say what the option was. I ordered the beef which I asked for well done and she said it’s served medium rare so we can get you all in to the show on time but I’ll ask for them to cook it well done for you. Already we felt we were being rushed. I even said that if it was a problem I would order something else. She ignored me. The food arrived an hour later and my beef was not only medium rare but it was cold, so was my mother’s ham and turkey and my sister’s vegan option was a bowl of beans with some carrots which we were charged €25 for. I would not return to the restaurant based on this experience.

   We had a pre concert meal in The Terrace Restaurant this week and it was very enjoyable indeed. The soup of the day was perfect for a cold evening, we both had the evening special of roast chicken that was very succulent, tender and full of flavour. This was followed by a hazelnut pannacotta and a cheese board, again both delicious. Our server was so pleasant and efficient we found all the staff to be courteous and friendly. We would highly recommend dining at The Terrace.

   While the service was excellent and the atmosphere nice, the quality of the food wasn't great. Most of us had turkey and ham and it felt like it had been sitting around all day and then just heated up. At a whopping €32, I'd expect a full plate with the best produce and not something that felt like it was all out of a packet. Won't be back, despite the nice staff.

   Tried to order a cheese board and a second bottle of wine at 15.20. Waitress told us service finished at 15.00 and pointed to the menu. Considering out table was booked foe 14.30 I thought this was strange. Mentioned this when paying the bill at 16.30 and was told waitress made a mistake and was offered wine then. Was too late as had engagment. Staff need to be trained at least to check with superiors first. Kind of spoiled a nice lunch. Will lunch here again.

    Sad to say this was very disappointing. The food was not good and expensive. We ordered one starter which was €17 and did not look freshly made but like somthing pre-made from the freezer. Our mains were brought out before we recieved the starter and there was some confusion. My partners meal was obviously left under a heat lamp while he ate his starter and so the fish was dry. He was asked if he wanted a fresh one while handing him the original one. The staff were nice and the room lovely, but the food was very poor.
