The Union Bank—affectionately known as "The UB" to locals—is a unique dining destination in the heart of Orange. With its rich heritage charm, it offers a variety of spaces to explore and enjoy.

At the Schoolhouse Restaurant, our flagship dining space, we take all bookings. If you prefer a more relaxed vibe, our stunning courtyard connects all areas and offers the perfect casual setting. While we don’t take bookings for the courtyard, you’re welcome to request it in your booking notes, and if the weather cooperates, we’ll be happy to seat you outside!

For group dining, The UB offers several private spaces, ideal for gatherings of 8 to 40 people. Whether you're hosting a business meeting or celebrating a special occasion, we have the perfect setting for you.

The iconic and heritage listed Union Bank building is spoilt for private event and dining spaces. Whether you're after an intimate private dining room, or the whole Schoolhouse restaurant, we have plenty of options. Spaces include: The Lobby is a small and intimate private dining room for up to 8 guests. The Bank Room is a large private dining room for up to 18 guests. Overall the food was great, we had the octopus dish however and it was the worst - tough and over sauced! Highly recommend the pate but make sure you order bread as it doesn’t come with the dish - why I don’t know! Very noisy and we were seated right near the door, which was being opened regularly causing it to be very cool and uncomfortable. When we asked to move we were told they were fully booked and not able to accommodate. So hot tip if you book make sure you ask for a table near the window or away from the door. Wine selection was pretty good and not bad value for money. We were charged for our octopus even though we advised the waitress at the time of plate collection of our disappointment with the dish, however when I advised at time of paying bill that we were not going to pay for this dish she humbly obliged. Not sure I would dine here again, I think there is plenty of other places in Orange worth visiting.

lovely food, nice garden setting and music (quiet, taped). i was impressed how well the staff coped with a huge number of people over easter. quality of food and service remained high.

Always a pleasant experience. Good food, great wine list. Lovely spot to dine outside when the weather is great. A must-visit when in Orange.

Such a lovely restaurant. We sat outside for lunch and it was a beautiful day. The potato scallops, pate and calamari were delicious. We had pork amd short ribs for mains with the leaf salad. Could not fault any of it. Will definately be back

Delicious meal, rabbit terrine with ciabatta amazing, and short ribs tasty with chips. Enough for two of us. Veggie options not extensive but didn’t bother us or limited desserts. Service was great. Memorable night for us travellers.

The food was fabulous. However the scallops that we were recommended didn’t really meet expectations as I thought they were coming with chilli as Barry had told us. The service was attentive until the end when we were trying to get the bill and no one wanted to make eye contact and we had to flag another wait staff down. Just felt a little let done at the end.

One of the best meals we have had in ages. We went to rockpool last weekend and this surpassed it, no doubt. Every dish was flavour wow and it ended with the ice cream sandwich that was bliss. Great staff and a gorgeous indoor setting. Highly recommend.
