The White Lion is a lovely thatched country pub, now fully restored with cosy snugs in the old beamed building and a sunny eatery opening onto large covered terraces and a secluded garden. Just two miles from the centre of Leamington Spa and a mile from the Fosse Way, the White Lion is easy to reach, with a warm welcome from our experienced team always ready with good beer, great cocktails, delicious wines and fresh seasonal quality food.

Our group went for a short notice Sunday lunch and were very impressed. Roasts and sides were all great (we had the Trio, Lamb and Beef). The service was excellent as well and the surroundings were clean and comfy. Will be coming back.

We had the roast today and cauliflower cheese was recommended by our waitress and it’s just as good as she said! Cheesy with a breadcrumb crust! My son has the kids veggie curry and it was delicious, great addition to a kids menu that normally consists of air fried/freezer food elsewhere….. they also do half sized roasts on Sundays for kids too! House Red was lovely, portion sizes were good, service was quick, genuine and effortless. The staff seemed to really enjoy being there. Definitely recommend!

Booked a table for 8 people at 15:30 midweek for a family gathering. Table had plenty of space, the pub was quiet meaning service was excellent, food was excellent (great menu catering for a variety of tastes), staff were very knowledgeable and super friendly made for a great afternoon. Jacob deserves a special mention as he’s very good with all aspects of the experience. In fairness he contributed to us having a fun afternoon.

Table not ready when we arrived for our booking. Had to stand at the bar to wait and order drinks. When table was ready drinks were taken to our table but had to ask 3 times for our water order. Starter arrived promptly. After starter, mains (Sunday roast) were delivered 35 mins later. No cutlery for one of us. I had to get up to find waiter to request cutlery. 2 of each spare wine and water glasses left on table. Food was quite nice but the experience was spoilt by the, frankly, appalling service. Not sure if we will return…shame as it’s local to us.

Although I booked , I was taken to garden where people were smoking - I had to snatch a table under the laper once a table became available Food was good but fillet Diane - was over cooked when asked for medium Waitress wanted to clear the table when clearly there was still food being eaten Small issues which can easily be improved on
